What Muslim Populations Bring
"Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; and the tribe against the world. And all of us against the infidel.
-- Leon Uris, "The Haj"...
Adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat
**
Taken from New English Review
Don Morris writes at Doc's Talk (thanks to Janet Levy):
... As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:
United States -- Muslim 1.0%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1%-2%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%
**
At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:
Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2. 7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%
**
From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.
They will push for the introduction of halaal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. (United States).
France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- Muslim 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world.
**
When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions (Paris -- car-burnings). Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats (Amsterdam -- Mohammed cartoons).
Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 10-15%
**
After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:
Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%
**
At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:
Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%
**
From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:
Albania -- Muslim 70%
Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%
**
After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide:
Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%
Egypt -- Muslim 90%
Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%
Iran -- Muslim 98%
Iraq -- Muslim 97%
Jordan -- Muslim 92%
Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan -- Muslim 97%
Palestine -- Muslim 99%
Syria -- Muslim 90%
Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%
Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%
**
100% will usher in the peace of "Dar-es-Salaam" -- the Islamic House of Peace -- there's supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:
Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 99.9%
**
Of course, that's not the case. To satisfy their blood lust, Muslims then start killing each other for a variety of reasons.

(Gay Muslim) Substitute teacher from Somalia charged with sexual misconduct

...
A Leavenworth substitute teacher accused of unlawful sexual relationships with high school students is a Somalian refugee in the United States under political asylum, officials said Thursday.
Mohamed A. Dirshe, 26, has been charged in Leavenworth County District Court with three counts of unlawful sexual relations and three counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor for illicit purposes, which are all felonies.
Dirshe is accused of inviting two 16-year-old male students to his home and giving them alcohol. He then allegedly had sexual relations with them while they were under the influence, said Leavenworth’s interim Police chief, Patrick Kitchens.
The incidents, which allegedly occurred between Oct. 19 and Dec. 30, involved students from Immaculata High School and Leavenworth High School. Dirshe also had been a substitute teacher for one day at West Middle School and at New Beginnings, a special education facility, according to a school official.
Word of the charges surprised people who knew Dirshe when he attended the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth.
Dirshe, who graduated last May with a bachelor’s degree in information technology, also played on the men’s basketball team. He attended the school on a scholarship, said Bob Uhlar, a public relations specialist for the university.
Dirshe was well-liked by other students, though he was kind of quiet.
Those who knew him said there was no indication that he was capable of this type of behavior, Uhlar said.
Dirshe has a remarkable story, Uhlar said.
At the age of 9, he witnessed the murder of his father, uncle and older brother outside his home in Somalia by militia men from a rival clan, according to an article in the winter 2005 edition of Aspire, the university’s alumni magazine.
In 1996, when he was 14, his mother forced him to flee to Kenya, according to the article.
“I was getting older and the chance of me getting hurt or getting killed was high,” he told a reporter for Aspire. “My mom didn’t want that.”
Dirshe lived there as a refugee for a couple of years before his uncle made arrangements for him to flee to the United States.
Police first became aware of the alleged incidents when officials from the Catholic school system alerted them. Dirshe was arrested March 17 and remained in Leavenworth County Jail on Thursday on a $100,000 bond.
His next court appearance is today.
Officials with the Leavenworth Regional Catholic Schools could not be reached for comment Thursday.
Police are investigating whether there were more victims.

Stanley Kurtz and National Review have made available some interesting documents—a comprehensive list of gifts originating in foreign countries to American colleges and universities. Here’s Kurtz’s article about why he made the FOIA request for these documents:
In an earlier piece in this space, “Saudi in the Classroom,” I showed that questions about undue Saudi influence on American education go beyond colleges and universities. Evidence suggests that various Saudi-funded institutions are able to use congressionally mandated university programs of “public outreach” as an unmonitored channel to gain influence over American K-12 education.

A report from one of our own attending a European university
...
I'm a student at a European university with a significant Muslim student body. This university of course is a very liberal institution which stresses inclusion and tolerance for all minorities and religions. Muslims here have numerous organizations and clubs; they have their own prayer rooms and they are even allowed to construct a large replica of Kaaba (the cube-like structure containing the Black Stone) on Ramadan, right in the centre of the campus. One would think that Muslims would be satisfied with these numerous accommodations and that we would all coexist in harmony. However, that proved to be insufficient and recently they asked the university to provide them with halal food. The administration of course has acquiesced and the university's biggest restaurant has added halal products to its menu. But that was not enough. You see the restaurant, catering to all the students of course, sells alcoholic drinks. What's more, it has a dance floor where people, well, dance… when they feel like it. Apparently though Allah forbids alcohol and dancing so the Muslim students' union has asked the university to ban dancing and the sale of alcohol at the said restaurant in the name of tolerance and respect.

It's unclear how all this will play out, since these brazen demands have created a backlash among even the most liberal of students. But the moral of the story is clear. We're not dealing with extremists here. I'm sure that most of the Muslim students would condemn terrorism and that none of them would want to harm innocent people. They will graduate and find jobs. And yet they refuse to integrate culturally into the mainstream society. Why would that be? Islam is a community and a way of life; its members share common values, assumptions and moreover they are convinced that Islam is the only way since it is the God's way. Being a cohesive group, Muslims promote their interests at the expense of the rest and their efforts will only intensify as their numbers and influence grow in our society. That's why it's misleading to attempt to draw a line between the extremists and non-extremists. Their means are different, but the end result – spread of Islam – is the same even if most Muslims do not ask themselves on a daily basis what they can do to advance their cause and would not want anything to do with terrorism. What's happening at my university is a microcosm of what is taking place in Europe at large.

This brings me to another important point. Geert Wilders has done us a great service with his movie. The Muslims will likely violently overreact again like they did in the past, betraying their deep-seated insecurity, and more Europeans will start asking themselves whether they want their countries to continue mass immigration policies. This, however, is not enough. It's not enough to expose Islam; it is essential to ask why Europe is falling pray to this alien religion. The reason is that Europeans have become a hollow, hedonistic and deracinated lot, with nothing with which to oppose Islam. Wilders urges Europeans to defend their freedom. Freedom is a great value, but without positive cultural imperatives, whether religious or national, it becomes a void which is now being filled by Islam. That's why I doubt that many Europeans will rush to the ramparts to defend their freedom with which most of them do not know what do with anyways. In the final analysis then, if Europe does become Islamized we will only have ourselves to blame. European culture is the problem, not Islam. Islam is just a consequent.

Mexican Drug Cartels' Military Camps/Cells On Our Border
Another practice is the creation of clandestine cells in various locations which are then called upon to carry out killings and other assignments. Authorities said such cells exist in McAllen, Brownsville and Laredo, as well as the Mexican cities of Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Matamoros.

Exclusive: Drug cartels operate training camps near Texas border just inside Mexico

The Dallas Morning News

CAMARGO, Mexico – The ranch near this border community is isolated, desolate and laced by arroyos – an ideal place, experts say, for training drug cartel assassins.
Mexican drug cartels have conducted military-style training camps in at least six such locations in northern Tamaulipas and Nuevo León states, some within a few miles of the Texas border, according to U.S. and Mexican authorities and the printed testimony of five protected witnesses who were trained in the camps.
The camps near the Texas border and at other locations in Mexico are used to train cartel recruits – ranging from Mexican army deserters to American teen-agers – who then carry out killings and other cartel assignments on both sides of the border, authorities say.
"Traffickers go to great lengths to prepare themselves for battle," said a senior U.S. anti-narcotics official, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Part of that preparation is live firing ranges and combat training courses. ... And that's not something that we have seen before."
Many of the camps are temporary, used for a time and then abandoned or used intermittently. Others are hidden on private land behind locked gates and have more permanent facilities, the officials said.
The land is seldom held in the name of known cartel members but is usually purchased through someone fronting for a cartel, authorities said. Sometimes "mobile" training camps are conducted on private land without the owner's consent.
The camps include locations in Mexico's interior, but U.S. law enforcement officials said they were acutely concerned about those located along the 1,000-mile-long Texas-Mexico border.
"As a Texan I find it offensive that they train in military-style camps just across the Texas border," said a senior law enforcement official and expert in weapons trafficking, speaking on condition of anonymity. "It's not good for Mexico and certainly not good for the United States. It's unsettling."
In the state of Tamaulipas, for example, the Zetas – the paramilitary enforcers of the Gulf cartel – train with other mercenaries, including the so-called Kailbiles from Guatemala, the officials said.
"These training camps are peppered throughout particular areas where major cartels, specifically the Zetas and the Gulf cartel, are located," the U.S. anti-narcotics official said.
The testimony of the five protected witnesses is contained in documents from the Mexico attorney general's office obtained by The Dallas Morning News. The spokesman for the attorney general's office, Fernando Castillo, confirmed the authenticity of the documents and said the report of six training camp locations in two states abutting Texas was "about right."
"We're not talking about Marine-style or al-Qaeda-type training camps," Mr. Castillo said. "These are more informal places used for target shooting and for physical exercising."
According to the printed testimony, the training has taken place at locations southwest of Matamoros, across the border from Brownsville; just north of the Nuevo Laredo airport; near the town of Abasolo, between Matamoros and Ciudad Victoria; and at a place called "Rancho Las Amarrillas," near a rural community, China, that is close to the Nuevo León-Tamaulipas border.
Two other ranches reportedly used as training camps, both east of Brownsville, have clandestine landing strips for cocaine shipments originating in Colombia and destined for the United States via Texas, according to the officials and testimony.
Mr. Castillo confirmed that some of the sites included landing strips and that the location known as "Rancho Las Amarillas" was a more permanent and sophisticated operation than the others.
"Rancho Las Amarrillas was unusually prepared as a training camp," he said. "It was a bit more sophisticated, but we seized that ranch in 2002 and just last month we formally sentenced the person who was in charge of the ranch. Rancho las Amarrillas was an exception."
Eduardo Salvador López, known as "El Chavo," was sentenced Feb. 23 to 20 years in prison for drug crimes, the attorney general's office said.
Mr. Castillo added: "When we know there is a training camp, we seized them shut them down. But because they're often mobile and often temporary, we can't do much about them."
Mr. Castillo also said he had "no doubt" that Kaibiles and Israeli mercenaries used the camps "to help Zetas with their preparation." He wouldn't elaborate.
Two Mexican soldiers stationed in Reynosa, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the camps were sometimes heavily fortified.
"Tamaulipas is one big training camp. There's danger everywhere," one soldier said.
"In some cases they're better armed than we are," the soldier said of the cartel members. "They can bring down a plane."
A former senior Mexican intelligence official said that the use of training camps has become "standard practice" for the cartels."Yes, there are training camps where hitmen from both sides of the border train with weapons from the United States," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Earlier this year, the Mexican government seized four tons of weapons and ammunitions in Miguel Alemán, southeast of Nuevo Laredo and a mile or so from the Texas border, Mr. Castillo said.
There is no firm estimate of the number of people who have received training in the camps, but a U.S. intelligence official said the number was in the "hundreds" across Mexico.
In Texas, Webb County Sheriff Rick Flores said he and other law enforcement officials are "doing everything we can to secure our borders with limited resources."
"We know through intelligence sources that narco-traffickers invest money in Mexican nationals and U.S. citizens in training camps to instruct them in the black art of assassination and terror," he said. "It's even more shocking to hear that they even have mobile training sites because they take loads of money to set up."
It's all part of a strategy by drug cartels to intimidate their enemies and assert control over besieged communities along the 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border, the officials said. The result has is unprecedented violence – at least 5,000 people killed in Mexico in drug-related violence in two years – and ongoing brutal confrontations with local, state and federal forces, plus military units.
"The Zetas raised the ante, they set a new bar," said the senior U.S. law enforcement official and weapons specialist. "The Zetas paramilitarized the situation with training camps and military background. They turned battles into a prolonged war."
Meanwhile, U.S. officials are considering a $1.4 billion aid package to help Mexico battle drug traffickers.
According to the witness testimony and interviews with U.S. and Mexican officials, training in the camps may range from a few weeks to months, and trainees have included American teen-agers.
One of them is Rosalio Reta, who was 17 at the time of his trial last year and is now serving a 40-year prison sentence for murder. Mr. Reta's career as a cartel hitman began at age 13, he told investigators. Authorities say he may have been involved in as many as 30 execution-style murders.
Last year, Mr. Reta gave Laredo Police Detective Roberto García an account of how he and other high school-age boys were trained as teen-age hitmen for the Zetas. Mr. Reta told Laredo authorities he spent months training under Mateo Díaz López, "Comandante Teo," an alleged top Zeta member arrested last year in the state of Tabasco on drug and weapons charges.
Mr. Reta's confession led to the discovery of three clandestine cells in Laredo, allegedly working for reputed cartel leader Miguel Treviño, known as Cuarenta, or 40. Laredo authorities now believe, however, that the number of cells is five, said Webb County Assistant District Attorney Jesús Guillén, who prosecuted Mr. Reta.
"I know we're fighting terrorism throughout the world and we're looking for them across the United States, but here along the border the narco-terrorists operate on both sides of the border, and so far it's gone largely unnoticed by Washington," Mr. Guillén said.
In small towns along the Texas-Tamaulipas border, the Zetas operate with seeming impunity, driving late-model SUVs and carrying gold-plated rifles. Along their trail are newly installed altars that pay tribute to "Santa Muerte," the Saint of Death, a sign, residents say, of cartel activity in the area.
According to the printed testimony, Rancho las Amarrillas, near the border of Tamaulipas and Nuevo León, was under the control of reputed Gulf cartel leader Osiel Cárdenas Guillén.
Mr. Cárdenas has been extradited to the United States and is awaiting trial on 17 counts of importing and distribution of drugs, as well as three charges of threatening a U.S. federal agent and one count of money laundering. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
Mr. Cárdenas used the ranch to raise cattle as well as to train his personal militia, many of them former army soldiers lured by promises of higher pay, according to the testimony. Pay started at about $300 a week but would double within six months – far higher than salaries for soldiers or police. Pay for hitmen and bodyguards began at $1,000 per week, according to testimony.
In September 2001, Mr. Cárdenas, a former federal police officer, began ordering new recruits lured from Mexican special forces units to the ranch for advanced training, according to the testimony.
"That course lasted two months," according to the testimony of one protected witness, who said he worked for Zeta leader Arturo Guzmán Decena. "From that point on, the Zetas, numbering more than 50, began to engage in larger operations."
Mr Guzmán was later killed in battle with the Mexican army in Matamoros. Today, the number of "hardcore" Zeta members is more than 300, according to an internal Mexican military intelligence report.
The training is extensive and includes the use of such weapons as AK-47 assault rifles, AR-15s, grenade launchers and .50-caliber machine guns, according to the testimony and U.S. and Mexican officials.
And the training can be deadly. In September 2002, Zeta member Omar Bautista Hernández drowned during an exercise that required him to swim with his backpack and high-powered weapon, according to the testimony.
The camps serve other purposes. In his confession, Mr. Reta told Detective García that the ranches are used as execution sites, where cartel members dispose of their enemies.
In one incident, according to testimony, the bodies of four Nuevo Laredo policemen were set on fire inside barrels filled with diesel fuel. The remains were buried the next day.

Axis of Evil: Coming soon to a neighborhood near you
Across the border
Todd Bensman is the outstanding San Antonio Express-News reporter who investigated and wrote the four-part series "Breaching America," about the travel of "special interest aliens" from the Middle East across U.S. borders. We noted Todd's work again most recently in "Axis of evil: Coming soon to a neighborhood near you."
Now Todd returns with a post at his own site providing a compilation of terrorists known to have crossed either from Mexico or Canada illegally in recent years, busting the myth that no terrorist has ever crossed and laying it all out. The post definitively answers the question "Have terrorists crossed?" On Saturday the Express-News published Todd's related story detailing how three Afghan nationals were caught posing as Mexicans traveling with genuine Mexican passports they bought for $10,000 each.
One of these days, protection of the border will be treated as a national security issue. When that time comes, we will be able to look back on Bensman's work and realize that there was no excuse for not having done so years earlier.

Dr. Tawfik Hamid reveals life as an Islamicist - VDH
**
Hamid’s metaphors are more poignant and instructive. After accurately likening radical Islam to a “cancerous cell” within the Islamic body, he goes on to discuss Western “myths and misconceptions” regarding the spread of this cancer (i.e. that Islamist terror is the inevitable byproduct of poverty, discrimination, ignorance, absence of democracy, colonialism, the Arab-Israeli conflict, U.S. foreign policy, et. al.).
He then reminds us that “Every medical doctor [i.e. people who truly apply the “scientific method”] will assert that it is very difficult to treat a disease if it is misdiagnosed or if the disease is confused with symptoms. If we misdiagnose, then we treat the wrong illness. If we confuse the roots of the illness or superficially mask its symptoms, we cannot effect [sic] a cure. The same applies to the societal disease of terrorism.”

Radical Thoughts
Dr. Tawfik Hamid reveals life as an Islamicist.
by Raymond R. IbrahimPrivate PapersThis review of Inside Jihad: Understanding and Confronting Radical Islam by Dr. Tawfik Hamid (Top Executive Media, 2006) was originally published at ASMEA as “An Insider’s Thoughts on Radical Islam.”
Several singular reasons make Inside Jihad: Understanding and Confronting Radical Islam by Dr. Tawfik Hamid a welcome contribution to the otherwise growing lore on radical Islam. Tawfik himself is a former jihadist and onetime member of Egypt’s infamous Islamist group al-Gam’a al-Islamiyya, which, among other notorieties, was responsible for the 1997 Luxor massacre where fifty-eight foreign (mostly European) tourists where butchered (to Hamid’s credit, he abandoned the organization well before it took to such extreme acts of terror). More intriguing is the fact that he met and was “mentored” by none other than al Qaeda leader and Islamic ideologue Dr. Ayman Zawahiri.

More intriguing is the fact that he met and was “mentored” by none other than al Qaeda leader and Islamic ideologue Dr. Ayman Zawahiri.
These two aspects alone place Hamid in a privileged position to comment on radical Islam; he is not simply talking out of “theory” but real life immersion and experience. But what makes his observations more noteworthy is the fact that, as a medical doctor with a background in psychology, he approaches his subject objectively (medical training) as well as gives a meticulous account of the jihadist mentality and the phases it goes through (psychological training).
Hamid’s professional background further allows him to make valuable use of medical analogies to better illustrate his point — not unlike his former mentor and fellow doctor, Zawahiri. Ironically (and surely unknowingly) both doctors offer medical imagery to combat each other’s views. Warning the umma from those who “cloak themselves in the garb of Islam worming their way into the umma’s beliefs, mind, and heart,” Zawahiri likens reformers such as Hamid to “lethal bacteria, trying to overcome the human immune system, trying to destroy it to sow corruption in the cells of the human body” (The Al Qaeda Reader, p. 104).

Before it begins, viewers are warned that they may see shocking images; these include pictures of the terrorist attacks in New York, Madrid and London. Fitna also contains fragments of interviews with the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, translations of verses from the Qur'an, newspaper headlines about death threats to Ayaan Hirsi Ali and quotes from sermons delivered by orthodox imams. It also notes that the number of Muslims living in the Netherlands has risen from 54,000 to 944,000 over the last hundred years.
Towards the end, a hand is shown grabbing a page of the Qur'an; the image is accompanied by the sound of tearing paper. Dutch subtitles then explain that the sound was that of a page being torn from a telephone book. In a written declaration, Mr Wilders declares that it is not up to him to tear malicious verses out of the Qur'an, but that Muslims themselves must do that.
1945 saw the triumph of democracy over Nazism and 1989 the fall of Communism.
Mr Wilders believes that that the time has now come for Islamist ideology to be defeated.

Muslim group seeks fine for Dutch lawmaker, ban on anti-Quran film
Associated Press , THE JERUSALEM POST Mar. 27, 2008
A Dutch judge is due on Friday to hear the petition of a Muslim group seeking an independent review of an anti-Quran film by lawmaker Geert Wilders to see whether it violates hate speech laws.
Showing the attacks on the West on 9/11 is now going to be considered hate speech?
The petition, seen by The Associated Press Thursday at the Hague District Court, says the Dutch Islamic Federation "believes the situation of Muslims in the Netherlands today is comparable with that of our Jewish fellow-citizens in the 1930s."
*SPIT* The twist this time is the "victims" are the ones doing all the killing, beheading, mass murder ....
The federation asked for a fine of $79,000 per day if Wilders airs the film, and a $7,900 fine for each future instance of an "injuring remark."
Let's start a collection.

Colombia seizes uranium from FARC leftist guerrillas
March 26
By Hugh Bronstein
BOGOTA, (Reuters) - Colombia said it seized at least 66 pounds (30 kg) of uranium from the country's biggest left-wing rebel group on Wednesday, the first time radioactive material has been linked to the four-decade-old guerrilla war.
The uranium was found in a rural area long considered a Marxist guerrilla stronghold just south of the capital Bogota.
It is being examined by government experts, the defense ministry said in a statement, although it did not say where the material came from or what it could be used for.
An expert on Colombia's cocaine-fueled conflict said rebels of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, do not have the facilities needed to make a bomb with uranium.
"This appears to have been part of a black market operation that the guerrillas were trying to use to make money," said Pablo Casas, an analyst at Bogota think-tank Security and Democracy.
"This is new for Colombia and could bring the FARC into the major leagues of black market terrorist transactions," he said.
The government said information about the stash of uranium was found earlier this month in computer files left behind by top guerrilla leader Raul Reyes, who was killed in a Colombian bomb strike against a FARC camp in neighboring in Ecuador.
The March 1 raid sparked a major diplomatic dispute between Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe, a conservative ally of the United States, and the left-wing leaders of Ecuador and Venezuela.
Colombia also claims the files show evidence that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has given financial support to the FARC.
The United States, which calls the FARC a terrorist group and has long considered Chavez a destabilizing force in Latin America, said the evidence is "disturbing".
Chavez openly sympathizes with the FARC but says Colombia's accusations are part of a U.S.-backed plot to smear him. He has also questioned how the computer files could have survived the bombing raid.
The FARC took up arms in the 1960s and is now funded mostly by cocaine smuggling and extortion. The group says it is fighting a Marxist insurgency meant to close the wide gap that separates rich and poor in this Andean country.
"No one believes the FARC wants to blow up Bogota to further the revolution," said a diplomat based in the capital who asked not to be named.
"This seems more like a black market action than military action. It shows again how the FARC is behaving more like an organized crime group than a political group," the diplomat said. The war kills, maims and displaces thousands of Colombians every year.

FLA: Islamic call to prayer played from clock tower
Library broadcast part of Islamic Awareness Month
(Islamic Awareness Month will always be September, as far as I am concerned.)
By: Farah Dosani // Contributing News Writer
Issue date: 3/27/08
Issue date: 3/27/08
Muslims students at the University of Miami have organized for the Islamic call to prayer, broadcasted each Friday afternoon this month from Richter Library's clock tower in commemoration of Islamic Awareness Month.
The call to prayer, or Adhan, is spoken in Arabic and is meant to resonate throughout the area. "It serves as constant reminder of when we have to pray, because prayer itself is a reminder of our religion and how we practice it," said Selima Jumarali, the vice president of the organization. According to the teachings of Islam, Muslims are to pray five times a day. In Muslim-majority countries, the call is usually performed live by an individual and is heard before every prayer.
Friday afternoon was chosen as the time to play the call because "it revolves around the day of congregational prayer," Jumarali said. Like Saturday for Jews or Sunday for Christians, Friday "holds strong significance for Muslims," she said.
Outside the library last Friday, students listened during the three-minute recording.
Kaleena Salgueiro said that although she could not understand the words in Arabic, the call was "pretty" and "very melodic." She said it reminded her of chanting in a monastery. Razan Alif, who is Muslim, was also sitting outside and heard the prayer call. "You always hear church bells ringing, but you never feel the existence of the Muslim community on campus," she said. When asked whether they thought the Friday prayer call should be continued even after the month, many replied "why not?" Regardless, Jumarali expressed her gratitude toward the administrators for allowing this expression to be displayed.
"It brings true variety to the university and open appreciation to diversity, especially in these times when people have misunderstandings of Muslims and who we are," she said.

Bat Ye’or: “If Obama wins, America will be dhimmified faster than Europe.”
Who was the one lawmaker that took a pass on saving the life of an imprisoned US ally and opponent of Islamist extremism? That's right, my own Illinois Senator Barack Obama.
**
Bat Ye’or: “if Obama is elected, America will become dhimmified
even faster than Europe.”
By Ted Belman
Phyllis Chesler is someone I keep in touch with. She is an American writer, psychotherapist, and professor emerita of psychology and women’s studies at the College of Staten Island (CUNY). She is known as a feminist psychologist, and is the author of thirteen books, including the best-seller Women and Madness, and the recent publications The Death of Feminism and The New Anti-Semitism. She because an ardent feminist after escaping, literally, from her marriage to a Muslim Afghan who took her to Afghanistan to live.
I wrote to her to ask her if she could generalize about Barak Obama’s psychological make-up due to the fact that he is part white, part black and part Muslim, part Christian and part African, part American. I was curious. She said she might write something on the issue but in the meantime referred me to Obama Is Our First Muslim Presidential Contender In The Same Way That Clinton Was Our First Black President which she had just written.
She explains her odd title, I am talking about his ties to Trinity United Church of Christ Pastor Jeremiah Wright (Obama has been a member for twenty years), and Pastor Wright’s ties to Farrakhan—who just last night bent over backward in his praise of Obama as our new Savior. Farrakhan addressed only the “black, brown, red, and yellow” people of America and of the world , not the “white” people, and compared Obama to the founder of the Nation of Islam, Fard Mohammed, whose mother was white and whose father was black—just like Obama’s parents. Farrakhan claimed that both men were “Saviours” and that Obama might be the only man who can save America.
Will Obama try to minimize this? Will he disavow it? Or will he ignore these words of praise completely? Let me remind us that Farrakhan is a black separatist and black nationalist Muslim and the man who referred to Judaism as a “gutter religion.” And Pastor Wright shares his vision of the importance of black nationalism (packaged as black liberation theology) and has publicly honored Farrakhan.
When questioned about this, Obama said that families have disagreements. Yes, Michelle Obama once wrote a thesis at Princeton which allegedly recognizes the importance of black separatism given white racist America. Do the Obamas also have family disagreements about this?
I once wrote that if people like Farrakhan, Khalidi, Said, Powers, McPeak, Ayers and Wright think he is their man, he is not my man or Middle America’s man. Wright thundered, “Barak doesn’t fit the mold. Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich, white people!”.
Evidently, he fits their mold. I am referring to the colour of his politics, not the colour of his skin.
She rightly asks:
Look, where does Obama stand on Islamic gender and religious apartheid? Is he aware that it has been penetrating the West, including America, the country he wishes to govern? Does he have a plan as to how he will deal with it? Does he stand with the Islamists or with their victims, beginning with Muslim women and Muslim intellectuals? Where does he stand on the proliferation of Muslim arranged marriages, polygamy, face-veiling, wife- and daughter-beating, and honor murders in America? And on the Islamist use of American civil rights law to safeguard Islamic gender and religious apartheid and Islamic separatism in America?
Is Obama aware of the persecution of “infidels,” beginning with Christians, in Muslim lands? Does he have a foreign policy vision that would demand reciprocity for all religions in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Iran before we allow American law to be used to construct mini-Saudi Arabias or Irans in America?
Why has no one been asking all the candidates, beginning with Our Savior Obama these questions?
She had many other questions regarding Obama’s views on Arab policies toward Israel and ends with this comment:
My friend and colleague, the scholar Bat Ye’or told me that if Obama is elected, America will become dhimmified even faster than Europe.
Bat Ye’or, who is also my friend, is an expert on Dhimmitude and wrote the book on it.

UK: Al-Qaeda jail gang spark riot
EXCLUSIVE

An al-Qaeda jail gang sparked a brutal riot at Britain's toughest prison after claiming an inmate insulted one of them.
The Muslim Boys mob armed themselves with socks packed with tinned food as they ambushed rival prisoners in a fearsome revenge attack.
All warders on duty were scrambled into action but it took 10 minutes to quell the violence.
An insider at Belmarsh prison, South East London, revealed: "They attacked a group of non-Muslim prisoners at meal time.
"It was brutal and all hell broke lose. One of them was verbally abused and the fight is thought to have been retaliation.
"They have no qualms about using violence to exert their authority."
Belmarsh staff have grown furious at what they see as bosses' soft approach to the gang.
Last year, they battered four officers with pool cues in a riot. And three officers were attacked during a separate incident.

Danger Signs on the Border - Douglas Farah
By Douglas Farah
A tip of the hat (actually, two tips) to Todd Bensman of the San Antonio Express-News for two articles (one in his paper and one one his website) on the reality that Islamist terrorists have crossed the U.S. border, and are likely to do so again.
Bensman is one of the few investigative journalists left with a staff job who takes these investigations seriously. As much of newspaper world, in particular, slash their investigative capabilities, these gems will grow ever more rare.
Bensman looks at the recent case of three Afghanistan national with genuine Mexican passports seeking to enter the United States. The good news is that the Mexicans are willing and able partners in investigating these potential breaches. The bad news is that they nonetheless had real passports, which makes getting caught much harder.
In his other story Bensman looks at the 10 cases of terrorists who made it across the border, including al Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas operatives. This is the first time I have seen the cases laid out in some detail and linked to terrorist groups.
What is of greater concern to me than Mexico, per se, as I have written earlier, is the number of Latin American countries where terrorists and their sympathizers, particularly but not limited to Hezbollah, can likely acquire legitimate travel documents that do not arouse much suspicion.

Here is an incomplete list of Muslims in the United States who have been arrested and/or convicted for either planning or acting out their "jihad" against unsuspecting, innocent men, women and children. Will the Muslim organizations in America ever stand up for once and address the facts, or will they continue trying to mask what's really going on within their own community by accusing Americans of practicing the biases and double standards that they themselves practice in accordance with their own beliefs?
Step right up, place your bets.
