Three Indonesian girls beheaded
By Tim Johnston BBC News, Jakarta

Three girls have been beheaded and another badly injured as they walked to a Christian school in Indonesia.
They were walking through a cocoa plantation near the city of Poso in central Sulawesi province when they were attacked.
This is an area that has a long history of religious violence between Muslims and Christians.
A government-brokered truce has only partially succeeded in reducing the number of incidents in recent years.
Police say the heads were found some distance from the bodies.
It is unclear what was behind the attack, but the girls attended a private Christian school and one of the heads was left outside a church leading to speculation that it might have had a religious motive. ..
(Religious motive? Gee... ya think??)
************************************************************************************* Hey, Hey!! Thanks Dhimmicrats!!
Since the Dhimmicrats' victory both Americans (well, those who don't hate America) and our allies (Japan, Australia, Great Britain) around the world are worrying now over Bush's ability to deal with issues like North Korean nukes, Islamic terrorism and our illegal immigration invasion endangering our sovereignty - and those who wish to destroy or exploit us gloat over the same...
Chavez leads gloating over vote
By David R. Sands
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
November 9, 2006

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez yesterday led a global chorus of Bush administration critics gloating over the outcome of Tuesday's midterm elections, but some foreign leaders expressed concern over what the Democratic victory will mean on issues such as global trade and the Middle East.
**
The resignation of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld also sparked praise from leaders of countries from the heart of what Mr. Rumsfeld once memorably dismissed as "Old Europe."
**
Informed of Mr. Rumsfeld's resignation as he was speaking, Mr. Chavez said, "Heads have started to roll. The president should resign on moral grounds, and Rumsfeld should go to jail."
(And the polls in Venezuela show he'll be re-elected on his 'Bush is a genocidal devil and perpetrated 9/11 on his own rhetoric. Is there no God?)

France hunts bus arsonists who set woman on fire

PARIS, Oct 30, 2006 (AFP) - The French government Monday launched an intensive hunt for a gang of youths who horrified the country by setting a woman on fire during a weekend arson attack on a bus.
**
The attack was the worst incident in an surge of urban violence over the weekend that coincided with the first anniversary of the riots that shook France last year.
**
According to police, nine buses were torched across the country last week, seven of them in the Paris area, by hooded or masked youths, some of whom were armed, though no other serious casualties have been reported.
Scores of parked cars have also been incinerated, and overnight Sunday, youths threw a stone from a bridge on a tram in the eastern city of Grenoble, smashing the window and injuring the driver.
Some 30 cars were torched in nearby Lyon the same night.
Scores of arrests have been made in scattered skirmishes with police, and several officers were slightly hurt.
The violence recalled the three weeks of riots that raged in mostly poor French suburbs a year ago -- the worst civil strife the country has seen in four decades...
(Finally, in the final paragraph they mention this...)

Then, gangs of youths, most of them from families of African and Arab origin living in marginalised neighbourhoods, torched more than 10,000 cars and firebombed 300 buildings in around 275 towns.

Bombings target vehicle showrooms in southern Thailand
By South East Asia correspondent Karen Percy
ABC News Online

Insurgents have set off a series of bombs in car and motorcycle showrooms in Thailand's south, injuring up to 13 people.
At least eight showrooms in the town of Yala were targeted simultaneously at about lunchtime.
The bombs were hidden inside display vehicles.
Separatist groups are believed to be responsible for the attacks which mirror a coordinated bombing campaign two months ago; more than 20 banks were hit in and around Yala in those attacks.
Elsewhere in the province, there have been reports that some Buddhists have died after being attacked by Muslim insurgents...

Chad: Sudan violence spills over border
Wednesday, November 8, 2006
By HALIME ASSADYA ALIASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

N'DJAMENA, Chad -- Chad's government has claimed that ethnic violence in Sudan's Darfur region is spilling across the border, sparking an upsurge of deadly Arab-African fighting among Chadians.
Government spokesman Hourmadji Moussa Doumgor said in a statement late Tuesday that the latest fighting broke out Saturday in the eastern region of Sila and left "numerous victims" on both sides.
That followed a report of violence from Chadian government officials who said a small clash between ethnic Arabs and ethnic Africans in another eastern region escalated into a large-scale attack in which Arabs killed 128 Africans on Oct. 31.
The extent of that violence had not been clear until the delegation reached the remote region on Monday.
Arab-African clashes across the border in Sudan's Darfur have undermined stability in a region that includes eastern Chad and the northern Central African Republic. Tensions have been further heightened because Chad accuses Sudan of supporting Chadian rebels and Sudan makes a similar accusation against Chad.

I guess Chavez hasn't seen this report... it would seem he's not really in the loop with his buddies in Iraq like he thinks.

Sunni Islamists Websites in Iraq Claim Iranian Top-Secret Document Reveals Iran/Al-Qaeda Contacts Months Before 9/11

In early October 2006, Sunni Islamist websites affiliated with the jihad groups in Iraq posted what they claimed was a top-secret Iranian document. The document, dated May 2001, indicates contacts between top Al-Qaeda figures and the highest echelons of the Iranian intelligence apparatus, which is part of the office of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and can be viewed at the end of this document. [1]
Evidence of Iran/Al-Qaeda cooperation had already been allegedly exposed in 2003 by the daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat and by Voice of America in interviews with an officer in Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Hamid Reza Zakeri, who defected to the West.
The publication of the document at this time may be part of the mounting tension between Sunni Islamists and Shi'ites in Iraq...

Muslim American Journalist Aslam Abdullah:
Millions of Proud American Muslims Oppose Al-Qaeda

The online version of the Las Vegas Review Journal (http://www.reviewjournal.com/ ) recently posted an article by Muslim American journalist Aslam Abdullah, who is the director of the Islamic Society of Nevada and of the Muslim Electorates Council of America, and is also editor of two Muslim American papers: the Muslim Observer weekly and the Minaret monthly. In his article, titled "Kill Us Too, We Are Also Americans," he harshly denounces the leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Hamza Al-Muhajir, saying that Al-Mujahir and his supporters rejoice in killing innocent people and that they bring nothing but disaster upon Islam. Abdullah adds that, if Al-Muhajir wishes to harm Americans, he might as well target Muslim-Americans, since they, no less than their fellow citizens, regard the U.S. as their home and uphold its values.
The following are excerpts from the article: [1]
"You [Al-Muhajer] Do Not Represent [the] Muslims or... Any Decent Human Being Who Believes in the Sanctity of [Human] Life"

Egypt arrests student blogger for defaming Islam
08 November 2006
Reuters

CAIRO: Egyptian security forces have arrested a student blogger whose writing was critical of Islam and the government, security sources and rights activists said.
Arabic blogger Abdel Kareem Nabil Suleiman, a 22-year-old aspiring human rights lawyer, was arrested in the coastal city of Alexandria on Monday (local time).
His detention was the latest crackdown on political opposition by Egyptian authorities following arrests and beatings at street protests earlier this year, despite calls from Egypt's US ally for political reform.
"The accusations directed against him are that he published opinions aimed at disturbing public order, insulted the head of state and defamed Islam," said Sally Sami, programme officer at the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (HRInfo), which is representing him.
"It is becoming more and more obvious that the government is not keen to reform or allow true democracy where differing opinions can be voiced."
(Gee, ya think?)
