Some good - well, hopeful, news.

If a city can go against Federal Law and up and claim sanctuary status without a vote by it's citizens or anything, why can't other cities claim anti-sanctuary status without having to go to court??
When I leave NewYork City I will be moving to a city that has passed similar ordinances.

FARMERS BRANCH – Council members unanimously approved tough new anti-immigration measures Monday evening, including one that makes English the official language.
In a series of 6-0 votes, the council members without discussion approved fines for landlords that deal with illegal immigrants and allowed local authorities to screen suspects in police custody to see if they are in the country illegally.

Taneytown council calls for business in one language Taneytown became the first municipality in Maryland to pass a resolution declaring English its official language but stopped short last night of a proposed change to the city charter that had drawn criticism from civil rights groups and some residents.
Mayor W. Robert Flickinger said the nonbinding English Language Unity resolution was preferable to a change in the charter, which would have been costly to implement and probably would have drawn lawsuits.
Had the charter been amended, "you're stuck with it," he said.
