Viva Vandalism...
Vandals Target Farmers Branch Mayor’s House
‘English Only’ Debate May Have Sparked ‘Viva Mexico’ Message

(CBS 11 News) Vandalism hit close to home this weekend for Farmers Branch Mayor Bob Phelps. As CBS 11 first reported at 6 p.m. Saturday, the mayor discovered Friday morning vandals had spray painted “viva Mexico” on the side of his house. By Saturday afternoon, the bright red letters had been blasted off with a high pressure wash, but some say the damage to community may be harder to fix.
“This is what happens when a community is filled with clash and conflict,” Carlos Quintanilla, with the Farmers Branch LULAC, said. The controversy stems from a city proposal to make English the official language in the city.
(Oh, so this is what democracy and free speech are all about. Thanks illegal Mexicans, for showing us how to truly and responsibly exercise these rights that we've been squandering all this time. What did we ever do without you?
Gosh, the illegal Mexicans and their supporters never stop finding new ways to show their respect and to make themsleves welcome here, do they?)

Immigrant Protection Rules Draw Fire
By JESSE McKINLEY / NY Times
With immigration continuing to flare and frustrate as a national political issue, sanctuary cities like San Francisco may soon be the next battlefront. Critics argue that sanctuary policies discourage the police from enforcing laws, though about 50 cities and counties have enacted variations on sanctuary, according to the National Immigration Law Center. They include Detroit, Los Angeles, New York and Washington. A handful of states have similar policies, including Alaska, Maine and Oregon.

“To say to a law enforcement official, if you encounter a foreign national who is in this country illegally and you believe that information would be of use and benefit to federal authorities, that you can’t call them, that’s just wrong,” said Representative John Campbell, Republican of California, who authored a provision in the federal Homeland Security bill that would have denied federal antiterrorism money to cities with sanctuary policies. The provision passed the House, but was not part of the bill eventually signed by President Bush.

“It’s mind-blowing for us to see taxpayer dollars spent to subsidize criminal activity — that’s the end result,” said Christopher J. Farrell, director of research for Judicial Watch, a conservative legal group that is suing the Los Angeles Police Department over its sanctuary rule.

Bush eyes Democrats for help on amnesty
By Stephen Dinan
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
November 9, 2006

President Bush yesterday said he will team up with Democrats to pass an immigration bill with a guest-worker program that his own party blocked this year, and his Republican opponents predicted a bloody intraparty fight but said they cannot stop such a bill from passing.
"We will fight it, we will lose. It will go to the Senate, it will pass. The president will sign it. And it will happen quickly because that's one thing they know they can pass," said Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican and chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, who had led the opposition to a guest-worker plan. "I am absolutely horrified by this prospect, but I have to face reality."
Mr. Bush supported a bipartisan majority in the Senate this year that passed a broad immigration bill including a new worker program and citizenship rights for millions of illegal aliens. But House Republicans blocked those efforts, calling them an amnesty, and instead forced through a bill to erect nearly 700 miles of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Tuesday's elections removed that obstacle by turning control of the House over to Democrats. Yesterday, in an afternoon press conference, the president said he shares Democrats' vision on immigration and will try again for a broad bill.
"There's an issue where I believe we can find some common ground with the Democrats," he said.
According to Reuters news agency, a spokesman for Mexican President Vicente Fox cheered Democrats' success, saying it improves chances for getting a bill done.
I don't know what to say about this. I am tempted to say: The North American Union is upon us already. Face it. The America we know and love is on the way out. We're going to be swallowed up by the third world.... but I can't give up. Ever.
This will divide this country once and for all emotionally and in other ways - like the corridor that will dissect our nation will do geographically.

Care Must Be Taken Against the Enemy Within

By Jerry Brewer

Can America be defeated from within? The simple fact is, that there is an underground terrorist apparatus inside the United States, along with foreign support and leadership. The essential ideology of this movement by a shadowy enemy with no visible armies or countries, within small enclaves, is “anti-imperialism.”

All this on top of perceived — quite possibly real — threats of terrorists entering the United States overland from Mexico or Canada, along with the fear that Latin American or Caribbean staging areas could be used to ultimately attack this country.

The al Qaeda and similar extremist groups are known for exceptional planning; intense training; repetition of successful tactics; superior weaponry; and spectacular attacks. Their work regularly includes professionally conceived plans that are well executed with patience and thoughtfulness. Law enforcement must train and prepare for these types of threats and learn to recognize what essentially is a paramilitary, special tactics, adversary....
