The Fascists Among UsOctober 17th, 2006
It’s no secret that hurling names about is as common in the political world as it is in a grammar school playground. One oft-used pejorative is “fascist,” which, along with racist, sexist, homophobe and others, tends to be least understood by those who utter it most. And because these damning terms are used wantonly, more to discredit than describe, they tend to be misapplied. Then, soon, calling someone a fascist becomes akin to calling him a snake: more a vague impugnment of character then a characterization of methods and goals.

Is Ahmadinejad setting a trap?October 17th, 2006
Mahmood Ahmadinejad is an extremely shrewd customer, who is perfectly capable of provoking an attack by Israel and/or the United States in ways that play to his strengths and their weaknesses. There is reason to think he may be doing exactly that.

Year-old article, but needs to be revisited...
Reflections on the Revolution in France*
by Daniel PipesNew York SunNovember 8, 2005
The rioting by Muslim youth that began October 27 in France to calls of "Allahu Akbar" may be a turning point in European history.
What started in Clichy-sous-Bois, on the outskirts of Paris, by its 11th night had spread to 300 French cities and towns, as well as to Belgium and Germany. The violence, which has already been called some evocative names – intifada, jihad, guerilla war, insurrection, rebellion, and civil war – prompts several reflections.

Some sobering lessons from Muslim taxi drivers
By Dennis PragerTuesday, October 17, 2006
Understandably, those troubled by the contemporary Muslim world point to the amount of gratuitous violence emanating from it and the apparent absence of Muslim anger against it.
In response, Muslim defenders of their faith -- and Western defenders such as Karen Armstrong and John Esposito -- inform us that the terror, suicide and cruelty that emanate from a portion of the Muslim world are all aberrations. We are assured that the average Muslim is as appalled as all other decent people are by Muslims who torture, decapitate and blow up innocent people.

Can we talk?
By Thomas Sowell
There are very few saints among people of any race, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation. None should be above criticism.
Increasingly, however, there are tighter and tighter restrictions on what you can say about more and more groups. San Francisco radio talk show host Pete Wilson discovered this recently when he criticized a city Supervisor and his female friend -- but not lover -- who had a baby together.

Why Liberals Channel Lucifer
By Kevin McCulloughSunday
Thinking they are like the very angel of light, liberals have taken to forked-tongue talk of late. And though they drone in pleasant tones, the bile their words create are some of the fiercest deceptions ever spoken.

Minutemen or the MullahmanOn America's Campuses, the Shiite's Hit the Fan
By Mary Katharine HamMonday, October 16, 2006
I hate to lecture. I really do. But these kids today. Man, they’re askin’ for it.

Attrition Through EnforcementA Cost-Effective Strategy to Shrink the Illegal Population
Proponents of mass legalization of the illegal alien population, whether through amnesty or expanded guestworker programs, often justify this radical step by suggesting that the only alternative – a broad campaign to remove illegal aliens by force – is unworkable.
