Lelyveld: "illegal" is a false word made up by Republicans
Joseph Lelyveld, former executive editor of the Pravda on the Hudson, has a big article in this week’s Pravda on the Hudson Magazine on the illegal immigration issue that’s boiling over in Arizona. Lelyveld reveals his honesty and good faith in passages like this, in which he manages to put both "amnesty" and "illegals" in scare quotes:
The majority of the majority [of the House], responding to what’s called its "base," wants to seal the border and deny permanent residence—which they say would amount to “amnesty”—to the uncounted millions of "illegals" already in the country; estimates run from 8 million to 11 million to more than 20 million (roughly half of whom happen not to have crossed the border on foot but simply overstayed visas).
Thus, for Lelyveld, persons who are in this country illegally are only here "illegally"; and for the U.S. to grant 12 million such persons legal permanent residence in the U.S. is not amnesty, but "amnesty."
Leftists like Lelyveld aren’t content with destroying our nation and civilization; in the process of doing so, they seek to destroy the meaning of words, thus destroying our ability to speak about what the nation-destroyers are doing.

The latest report on Border Security, by Texas Rep. Mike McCaul, was released today and shows increasing numbers of illegals from terrorist sponsoring countries (OTM's) being smuggled across our southern border by Mexican drug cartels, which, let's be honest here, is just another branch of the

Mexican Govt. and military.
But this is just a fraction of the disturbing information made public by the report. As usual, the msm is downplaying the seriousness of the situation out of fear, or their habitual PC sickness... I don't know.
For instance, I have yet to find in print mention of the 600-plus illegal OTM's from Special Interest (terror watch list) Countries they caught at our southern border last year, which I know is in the report... The estimate is that if 600 were caught, roughly 6,000 got through.
And Hugo Chavez (living up to his reputation of being the Axis of (Dr.)Evil's Mini-me) is working diligently training Muslims to assimilate into Hispanic culture and pass for Venezuelan and Latin American citizens - complete with fake documents and everything else they could need... which is already a very lucrative business for him. Since he's so cuddly with Iran's Psycho President, one can only assume many of them are Iranian and members of Hezbollah.

Mexico and everything south of it is perfectly corrupt and to not seal our border and deport all illegal aliens and non -US citizens is perfectly insane. We cannot allow ourselves to be overtaken by an unscrupulous Third World. We cannot treat them as if they are our peers. They do not see themselves as such and will never conduct themselves as such.

We have been paying millions of dollars every year to Mexico to assist (bribe?) them to secure the border from their side - and THEY REFUSE - not refuse the money, refuse to even attempt to seal the border. Instead they publish pamphlets telling people how to cross the border illegally and what to do once they're here. We've effectively done nothing but invest in making the problem worse. They keep saying they need more money to do to fight the Cartels and battle the smugglers.

That's absolute bullshit. Mexico makes money off them.

There is no one America can trust anymore. No one is willing to work with us here. They are all collaborating our ruin and destruction, lying, taking our money, stealing our money, laughing in our faces and behind our backs.
Face it.
Time to seal the borders, deport all non-US citizens,

put a moratorium on all immigration.
It is inevitable...

This is almost more than we can stomach. Twice now we've come across the news headline "Muslim Clerics Reach Out to the Pope" to describe an open letter by 38 Muslim scholars to Benedict XVI in response to his suggestion that Islam has a violent history. One would think that the pope is a lonely or deeply disturbed man, needing the company of others to set him straight in his ways as these scholars are so graciously doing.

In fact, the letter was sent the day after Muslims in Iraq beheaded a Priest after holding him and torturing him for two days because they were angry at the Pope's words. They not only cut off his head, but his other limbs as well.

There is no mention of this in the letter. Perhaps it occurred too late for the scholars to incorporate it into their text. Fair enough.... But wait! There is no mention of the Catholic nun who was gunned down at a children's hospital by a disgruntled Muslim nearly a month earlier or the other Christians who were killed around the same time. As a matter of fact, there is no mention at all of any of the brutal acts of violence that the Islamic religion pours out on the world each and every day. Instead, the letter is a study in narcissism, trumpeting the virtues of Islam while blatantly failing to apologize for or even acknowledge its crimes past or present.

This is the reality of the Muslim world today. It is deeply self-consumed and emotionally immature, so willing to blame anyone but itself for the smallest of problems by which it is affected, while pathologically incapable of taking responsibility for the horror that it inflicts on others.

Yes, there is a dialogue that desperately needs to take place, but it is within Islam itself.
