It's the Global Jihad, stupid...

Liberals Stand To Learn Much About Radical Islam From 'Confrontation at Concordia University - 2002'
(5 Must See Videos - link below)
In September 2002, LGF covered the story of the violent demonstrations at Montreal's Concordia University that forced the cancellation of a speech by former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. Yesterday a reader there emailed-in a link to a shocking documentary on the event, showing what LGF describes as the "thuggish, extreme nature of the Saudi-funded Muslim Student Association in a way that hasn't been exposed before; they believed they had the upper hand, and they had utter contempt for the Canadian authorities.
It was a little intifada, right in the middle of Montreal."
The event occurred only one year after the September 11 attacks on America. There are five parts to the film, and they can all be viewed in the extended post below.
As George Jonas noted yesterday at the National Post, liberals have a tough time thinking of entire ethnic, racial or religious groups as hostile, and an even tougher time thinking of other groups as morally or intellectually flawed. While this is a good thing, it's a bad thing when liberals' are reluctant to recognize dangerous threats where they truly exist, and their reluctance stands in the way of a sober and factual analysis of a highly dangerous threat like radical Islam. Such is the case in recent years, during which many liberals have failed to face up to certain facts about Islamism and Islam, including the relationship between the two:
[...] Islam is one of the world's great religions. Islamism is a radical movement of intolerance, coercion and terror. The followers of Islam are a billion faithful Muslims around the world. The followers of Islamism include Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda, Sheikh Omar and his Taliban, the nuclear ayatollahs of theocratic Iran, the militants of Hezbollah, the Armed Islamic Group of Algeria, the late Shamil Bashayev's human bombs from Chechnya and a string of other terrorists in far-flung parts of the globe.
Unfortunately, they also include some of our neighbors down the block or around the corner.
Is there a connection between Islamism and Islam? Liberals wince when someone poses this question.
Whatever the answer, the question is legitimate and liberal-minded people should not have to wince when they hear it. It should not be a taboo for liberals to examine the ideas that fuel some ethnic or religious groups from time to time. It should not be a taboo to examine them honestly and rigorously. It can be a matter of survival to accurately assess historical trends, even when they are associated with ethnic or religious groups. In this, as in most other matters, it is possible to retain liberal principles without losing one's judgement and common sense.
It is a good thing to make sure that we do no injustice to any individual, no matter what group he or she belongs to. It is a good thing to safeguard liberal values. It is a good thing to keep searching our souls. It is a bad thing to abdicate to evil.
