Anti-American 4th of July?

This is a most truly excellent post from the notorious Zombie , a stealthy photographer in S.F. dedicated to documenting the demented.

So take a walk on the wild side... Feel free to stray too near the edge...You'll be positively numbed by the rampant derangement of the Left Coast. Seriously.

July 4th in San Francisco
It’s not just a cliché—an awful lot of people in San Francisco really do hate their own country. And I mean, hate. Zombie serves up more proof, in a photo essay about an art exhibition for Independence Day: Anti-American July 4th.
It’s the kind of exhibition where Communist mass murderers get a place on Mount Rushmore.
GOOD TIMES!

And this next one just plain breaks my heart. This person, Howard Zinn (MAY HIS SOUL BURN IN HELL BETWEEN MOHAMMEDS AND HITLERS FOR ALL ETERNITY), is truly, and even more sadly, rich in ignorance and bereft of common sense.
America is special. Always has been. That's why everyone wants desperately to come here and either take what they can for themselves or destroy us.
Neither action speaks to indifference, in any case.
There is no place like America.
Everyone can't come here - nor should they. If they want an "America" for themselves, they have to make their own. Should be easy... according to Howard Zinn (MAY HIS SOUL BURN IN HELL BETWEEN MOHAMMEDS AND HITLERS FOR ALL ETERNITY) there's really nothing to her, America. In actuality America is quite the non-spectacle, an involuntary kind of natural occurrence.
Kind of like a fart. A very deadly fart.

"Our citizenry has been brought up to see our nation as different from others, an exception in the world, uniquely moral, expanding into other lands in order to bring civilization, liberty, democracy.
That self-deception started early."

Put away the flags
By Howard Zinn
(MAY HIS SOUL BURN IN HELL BETWEEN MOHAMMEDS AND HITLERS FOR ALL ETERNITY)
On this July 4, we would do well to renounce nationalism and all its symbols: its flags, its pledges of allegiance, its anthems, its insistence in song that God must single out America to be blessed.
Is not nationalism -- that devotion to a flag, an anthem, a boundary so fierce it engenders mass murder -- one of the great evils of our time, along with racism, along with religious hatred?
These ways of thinking -- cultivated, nurtured, indoctrinated from childhood on -- have been useful to those in power, and deadly for those out of power.
National spirit can be benign in a country that is small and lacking both in military power and a hunger for expansion (Switzerland, Norway, Costa Rica and many more). But in a nation like ours -- huge, possessing thousands of weapons of mass destruction -- what might have been harmless pride becomes an arrogant nationalism dangerous to others and to ourselves.
It's really not worth reading... but what the hell. Know thy enemy!:
