Ole Miss grad student headed terrorist group, prosecutor says

CHICAGO - Secret bank accounts, so-called dead drops of the kind spies use to pass documents without being seen, murder plots and a clandestine network of terrorists with bases in the heart of America. A federal court jury has been hearing of such matters for the last three months at the trial of former Chicago grocer Muhammad Salah and former university professor Abdelhaleem Ashqar of Springfield, Va. Ashqar, a former assistant business professor at Washington's Howard University, was a University of Mississippi graduate student in the early 1990s when prosecutors say Hamas was launching operations in America.
