Reconquista Union Backs Obama

A Step Closer to Conquest of Aztlan
Will Southern California Become Our Kosovo?
Reconquista Labor Unions Run It
Lou Dobbs Tonight -- CNN -- February 15
Pilgrim: Jessica, the Service Workers Union is well known for its support of illegal alien amnesty and open borders. Now are they choosing to endorse Obama because they feel he's most aligned with their position?
Yellin: They are saying that Senator Obama is aligned with their position on this issue as well on others. In a statement to CNN about his immigration position, they say, we support Barack Obama because he supports a comprehensive solution that provides an earned pass to citizenship. That's from the SEIU -- Kitty?

Here's one to watch.
I found this at jihadchat.com - excellent post from "Classic Woman"!
If this guy makes any money off of this, everyone who can will be coming out of the woodwork if they have any type of a similar story.
At any rate, he's got the gay vote now too. And the crackhead vote.
What will muslimes think? They will refuse to believe it - unless they already view him as an apostate.

Larry Sinclair accuses Barack Obama of homosexual acts and drug use in video posted on YouTube

WASHINGTON – The electrifying presidential campaign of Barack Obama faces a new challenge – a Minnesota man who claims he took cocaine in 1999 with the then-Illinois legislator and participated in homosexual acts with him.
When his story was ignored by the news media, Larry Sinclair made his case last month in a YouTube video, which has now been viewed more than a quarter-million times. And when it was still ignored by the media, Sinclair filed a suit in Minnesota District Court, alleging threats and intimidation by Obama's staff.
Sinclair, who says he is willing to submit to a polygraph test to validate his claims, will now get his chance – thanks to a website offering $10,000 for the right to record it and $100,000 to Sinclair if he passes.
"My motivation for making this public is my desire for a presidential candidate to be honest," Sinclair told WND by telephone. "I didn't want the sex thing to come out. But I think it is important for the candidate to be honest about his drug use as late as 1999."Sinclair, who lives in Duluth and describes himself as "gay," claims he "personally engaged in sexual activity and personally used illegal drugs in November 1999" with the man who is now the leading Democratic presidential candidate. He claims the activity took place in the back of Sinclair's limousine and occurred again, later, in his hotel. Sinclair also says he personally no longer uses drugs.
In his lawsuit, filed last week, he charges his civil rights have been violated by Obama and the Democratic Party. Named as defendants in the case are the presidential candidate, David Axelrod of AKP Message and Media in Chicago and the Democratic National Committee.
Sinclair charges Obama smoked crack cocaine in the limo while Sinclair snorted powdered cocaine provided by the legislator. He says the two met in an upscale Chicago lounge before leaving in Sinclair's limousine where the drug use and sex took place for the first time.
Sinclair says he is a registered Democrat but has never voted for any candidate. He is 46 and claims to be physically disabled.
He says he was not physically impaired in 1999 when the alleged incidents with Obama took place.
Calls placed to the Obama campaign were not returned.

Thanks to Veritas Universalis for posting these, and to Steen for the tip.According to Veritas Universalis (my translation):
...
The interview was recorded in the USA on February 1st, 2008. Lionheart says among other things that Al Qaeda is sitting on top of 95% of the narcotics traffic in England, that it considers it to be legitimate chemical warfare against the infidel, and that the distribution is managed by Pakistani taxi drivers. Lionheart is in mortal danger after the publicity he has been exposed to in recent weeks, and he is considering seeking asylum in the USA.

"You can't buy beer unless you've got ID," Jarnagin said.
"Illegals don't have ID but it seems like a lot of them still drink, so they've got to either steal it or buy it from a bootlegger."

Bootlegging returns to East Tenn., serving immigrants, sheriff says
by Travis Loller, The Associated Press
updated February 15, 2008 7:16 am

Nashville, Tenn. – Bootlegging hadn't been much of problem in Hamblen County since beer laws loosened up decades ago, but the sheriff says he suddenly seeing it again.
Sheriff Esco Jarnagin thinks bootlegging is making a comeback in his eastern Tennessee county because of a concentration of illegal immigrants and a one-of-a-kind state law requiring everyone, no matter how old, be carded when buying a six-pack.
"You can't buy beer unless you've got ID," Jarnagin said. "Illegals don't have ID but it seems like a lot of them still drink, so they've got to either steal it or buy it from a bootlegger."
In September, Jarnagin and deputies raided a mobile home where the Hispanic residents were selling beer by the can without a permit. Inside they found a stock of beer — nearly three dozen 12-packs, three 30-packs and numerous loose cans.
The two caught running the operation pleaded guilty, getting $100 fines and probation.
"This guy did not have an inflated price. They were just furnishing a service," the sheriff said.
"I guess you could say he was running a store."
Bootlegging has a long history in Tennessee, where liquor was outlawed 10 years before Prohibition and it's still illegal to a buy a drink in the county that's home to Jack Daniel whiskey.
But hauling in hooch faded into state history once beer became widely available. Only Cocke County "kind of maintained its bootlegging heritage," said Terry Hill, special agent in charge of the Knoxville Alcoholic Beverage Commission office.
Now in Hamblen County, which borders Cocke, Jarnagin has his officers investigating what he suspects are other bootlegging operations. And authorities in the county seat, Morristown, made their own bootlegging bust in December, charging a Hispanic market owner with selling beer illegally.
ID law blamed for illegal sales
Jarnagin has a hunch the incidents mean bootlegging is rebounding. While the ABC hasn't seen an uptick in state cases, Hill says the busts "have kind of opened our eyes up."
"We'll have to start checking into it. It might very well be (a trend)," Hill said.
Tennessee is the only state with a universal carding policy, according to Steve Schmidt at the National Alcohol Beverage Control Association. The law, which is meant to curb underage drinking, took effect in July and applies only to groceries and markets that sell six-packs.
Thanks to the state's convoluted liquors laws, outlets selling more potent alcoholic beverages like wine or whiskey don't have to card everyone. So drinkers who look obviously older than 21 still can buy booze without identification at liquor stores, bars or restaurants.
And cashiers selling beer are supposed to recognize any government-issued picture ID, even a foreign one, but immigrant advocates say that is not happening.
Yuri Cunza, president of the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said a friend visiting from Spain recently was told he couldn't purchase beer with his passport. Cunza blames the incident on xenophobia and inadequate training about valid IDs.
"Something (ID) that's not from here is also becoming associated with something that's not good," he said.
Jarron Springer, president of the Tennessee Grocers and Convenience Store Association, said beer retailers love the mandatory carding law because it takes the guess work out of asking for identification.
But some beer vendors in a Nashville neighborhood with a large immigrant population say the law has driven down beer sales.
"When we started asking for ID, a lot of (customers) disappeared," said Emad Saad, manager of Real Discount Tobacco.
Sales have been lower for about six months, he said, roughly the same period the law has been in effect.
Corona, for example, is the most popular beer among his Hispanic immigrant customers, he said.
"We used to buy four or five cases of Corona a week," Saad said. "Now we buy one case a week."
Saad isn't sure how much of the sales decrease to attribute to the universal carding law.
He's seen fewer Hispanic immigrants in the neighborhood since the sheriff's department stepped up checking inmates for immigration status. A weaker economy and higher tax on a pack of cigarettes also could be contributing to slumping beer sales, he said.
Nashville police say it isn't apparent that bootleggers are operating in the city. Spokeswoman Kristin Mumford said the department has not arrested anyone for bootlegging since the carding law took effect.
Other Tennessee sheriffs in counties with large immigrant populations also haven't noticed a bootlegging boom.
"We haven't heard of any cases whatsoever," Bedford County Sheriff Randall Boyce said.
He laughed and added, "They haven't thought of it here, probably — and they will soon, I bet."

A Crowd of Illegal Immigrants* Caught Near the Border

It wasn't a handful of illegal immigrants this time. It was more like a swarm.
Border patrol agents came across a group of 85 trekking through the desert, east of Douglas, Arizona February 13.
First the agents spotted fresh tracks along the Geronimo Trail and they began to follow them. Once they found the group, agents began to interview everyone.
All 85 people were male. They told agents they'd crossed in search of work because factories had recently closed in Mexico.
They also said they'd come across from Agua Prieta, Sonora over a 24-hour period, with guides who left them just before they were apprehended.
All 85 have been voluntarily returned to Mexico.

Afghans With Mexican Passports

Three Afghan nationals held at Nedumbaserry Airport
Kochi, Feb 13 (UNI)
Three Afghan nationals were arrested at the Nedumbaserry International Airport, near here, today for travelling on fake Mexican passports, Immigration officials said.
The three were earlier in the day deported from Kuwait after authorities there doubted their claim to be Mexican nationals.Immigration and other security officials interrogated the three for several hours and finally arrested them on charges of travelling on forged passports.
According to Immgiration officials, they were Afghan nationals trying to go to France. However, their real names have not been disclosed so far.
The Mexican passports which they were carrying identified them as Antonio Lopez Juan (42), Javier Sanchez Alberto (20) and Atonio Lopez Ernesto (16).
They had left from Nedumbaserry Airport on February 11 for Kuwait en route to France.
However, the emigration officials at Kuwait had found them to be suspects as they reportedly could not understand any Spanish. They also suspected the passports to be forged. The three were then deported to Nedumbaserry today.
The three had reportedly arrived in New Delhi on January 23 this year, as per the stamps on their passports. However, there was some doubt about the authenticity of the arrival stamps on the passports also, emigration officials said.

Would Muslimes Endorse Apostate? HELL NO!

... SHE ANSWERED, "NO. WE HAVE MANY MUSLIM MEMBERS IN OUR CHURCH."
It is important to note that Muslims would not attend church.
I asked her, "Is that how Senator Barak Hussein Obama became a member?"
There was silence.
**
I am Usama K. Dakdok, President of The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. I am invited by churches all over America to speak about ISLAM and its threat to America and the West.
I have had concerns about Senator Obama's honesty regarding his so called Christian faith.I called The United Church of Christ in Chicago Illinois, where Senator Obama is a member. If Senator Obama were indeed a Christian, he would be regarded as an "Apostate" which according to Islamic Law, would mean he would be subject to a death warrant imposed upon anyone who leaves Islam, according to the Prophet Mohammed.
Many muslims who have left Islam have been murdered on this basis worldwide.
Putting Islamic law aside, Obama would still be condemned by Islam.
However, in Senator Obama's instance, Muslims in America are joyously happy to think that Obama would be a Muslim President in the white House. Obama is deceiving America.
Muslims would not be endorsing a Muslim who left Islam and became a Christian.

Missing girl's body 'put into kebab'
Charlene Downes: Missing without a trace

Last Updated: 12:35am
BST 27/05/2007
A schoolgirl was murdered by a fast food shop owner who joked that she had been "chopped up" and put into kebabs, a court was told yesterday.
**
The prosecution alleged at Preston Crown Court that Charlene Downes, 14, was killed by Iyad Albattikhi, 29, owner of a food shop in Blackpool, who had sex with her.
Charlene was one of a number of young girls who visited an alleyway in the town to have sex with older men who worked in the fast food shops, Tim Holroyde QC, prosecuting, told the jury.
Charlene, from Blackpool, was "well and happy", the court heard, but had a "chaotic" home life. Expelled from school, she spent her time hanging around shops on the Blackpool Promenade. She was last seen on the evening of Saturday Nov 1 2003. After kissing her mother goodbye she left alone - and vanished, Mr Holroyde said.
A missing persons inquiry began but police later launched a murder investigation after receiving information that Charlene had been "killed and chopped up", the court heard.
No trace of Charlene's body has ever been found.
Mr Holroyde told the jury that a witness had heard Albattikhi and others talking about her.
"These people were talking about sex with white girls, and there was mention of having sex with Charlene," he said.
"Albattikhi laughed and said she was very small - the plainest possible indication that he was lying to the police when he said he did not know her. He and others present then laughingly said that Charlene had gone into the kebabs."
Albattikhi, a Jordanian immigrant, is charged with murder. His business partner and landlord, Mohammed Reveshi, 50, is accused of helping dispose of the body.
Both deny the charges and have told police they did not know Charlene.
Albattikhi and Reveshi were joint owners of the food shop, the court heard, which Albattikhi ran.
Charlene became a "familiar figure" hanging around the shops where she would sometimes get free food.
Mr Holroyde said: "In addition she was one of a number of adolescent white girls who sometimes went at night to the alleyway behind the restaurants. She and others went there to meet much older men from the restaurants, and it seems perfectly clear that there was at times some sexual activity."
Albattikhi took advantage of one of those vulnerable girls - Charlene Downes, the jury was told.
Mr Holroyde added: "It is the prosecution case that the background to the murder of Charlene Downes and the disposal of her body is some sexual activity between her and one or both of the defendants.
"Sexual activity between these adult men and a 14-year-old girl would be a crime which could be expected to have serious consequences for them."
After Charlene's disappearance, both the accused were questioned and told police they did not know her, the court heard.
In 2004, Albattikhi had a dispute with his brother, Tariq, who told a witness, David Cassidy, that he knew what had happened to Charlene - "she had been killed and chopped up and there had been a lot of blood", the court heard.
Mr Cassidy was allegedly later offered a £20,000 interest-free loan from Reveshi.
Police searched the flats of both accused men but found nothing. Detectives then bugged the premises and Reveshi's car, and Mr Holroyde told the jury some of the recordings were "revealing".
The trial continues.

Coyotes & Smugglers Threaten Environmental Scientists

PHOENIX — Biologist Karen Krebbs used to study bats in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument on the Arizona-Mexico border. Then, she got tired of dodging drug smugglers all night.
“I use night-vision goggles, and you could see them very clearly” — caravans of men with guns and huge backpacks full of drugs, trudging through the desert, Krebbs said. After her 10th or 11th time hiding in bushes and behind rocks, she abandoned her research.
“I’m just not willing to risk my neck anymore,” she said.
**
What’s a Poverty Pimp™ to do when his or her future voting bloc of Shamnesty™-seeking welfare sponges are threatening to kill Mother Gaia’s™ custodians? (And thereby possibly unleashing the wrath of the Eco-Freaks™. Of course, they’ll most likely blame the Eeeeevil BusHitlerCheneyBurton Cabal™ for forcing the Poor, Oppressed Little Brown People™ into the pristine wilderness areas, by not demolishing the border checkpoints and allowing them to simply drive in, unfettered and unmolested.)
**
Across the southwestern U.S. border and in northern Mexico, scientists such as Krebbs say their work is increasingly threatened by smugglers as tighter border security pushes trafficking into the most remote areas where botanists, zoologists and geologists do their research.
**
Yeeeeeeeeeah. The continuing rise in the number of illegal aliens “undocumented workers” around the country sure do show how much “tighter” the border is. How many miles of that vaunted, much-ballyhooed border fence have been installed so far?
**
“In the last year, it’s gotten much worse,” said Jack Childs, who uses infrared cameras to study endangered jaguars in eastern Arizona. He loses one or two of the cameras every month to smugglers.
Scientists, especially those working on the Mexican side of the border, have long shared the wilderness with marijuana growers and immigrants trying to enter the United States illegally. But tension is rising because of crackdowns on smugglers by the Mexican military (Ha!—B.), increased vigilance in the Caribbean Sea, new border fences (Ha! again—B.), air patrols, a buildup of U.S. Border Patrol agents and a turf war between cartels.
**
With the Messican military escorting drug dealers across the border and the above-referenced joke of a fencing project, we’ll have to throw The Bullshit Flag™ on at least part of that last paragraph.
**
Scientists say things have gotten more uncomfortable since 2001, when the United States began fortifying its border after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. (Ha! once more—B.) In 2006, the Border Patrol embarked on a hiring spree, with plans to raise its personnel from 12,000 to 18,000 by the end of 2008. (And promptly tie their hands behind their backs and jail them should they be so uppity and, ya’ know, actually enforce the laws & guard the border.—B.)
Smugglers have responded with violence. Assaults on Border Patrol agents are occurring at a record pace, with 250 attacks reported from Oct. 1 to Dec. 16, an increase of 38 percent over 2006.

Texas man sentenced for harboring illegal immigrants

FARGO, N.D. — A Texas man has been sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to forfeit $45,450 for hiring illegal immigrants at a construction site in Grand Forks.
The U.S. attorney's office said Michael Byrd and his company, B&B Masonry Inc., of Tyler, Texas, pleaded guilty to the charge in October.
Authorities said 10 illegal immigrants were brought to Grand Forks by B&B Masonry and Byrd was providing motel rooms for them in 2006. They investigated further, and found Byrd was hiring large numbers of illegal immigrants for his company, which had finished about 160 restaurant projects around the country.
U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson handed down the sentence in Fargo.

Federal Judges Are Upholding State Laws Against
Illegal Aliens
Dec-07
The federal government's failure to resolve our illegal immigration crisis has lead many of our cities and states to enact their own legislation. Now courts are upholding those efforts. Attorneys in Oklahoma, Missouri and Arizona recently fighting off challenges to their new laws. Kris Kobach, professor of law at the University of Missouri, said:
"In the past 14 days, we have seen the federal court coming out of Valley Park, Missouri, a district judge in St. Louis as well as a federal court in Arizona, uphold a state law there and those judges rejected every single claim that the ACLU and Maldef have been bringing against these local or state laws."
The central claim? That the states are somehow pre-empted by federal law. Kobach notes, however, that Congress has invited them onto the field and they can now take away business licenses from companies that employ unauthorized aliens.
"In each of these cases, the plaintiffs argued that somehow these laws were discriminatory and in all of the cases, even in Hazleton, the judge said there is no factual basis and there is no legal basis for the claim that these laws discriminate. On the contrary, they have been written in excruciatingly neutral nonracial non-ethnic terms and they have safeguards built in so that discrimination can not give rise to any enforcement."

Sweden: Rash of "Balcony Incidents"

What Kind of Pigs?
Friday, February 08, 2008
by Baron Bodissey
**
I posted the other day about the rash of “balcony incidents” in Sweden, a series of suspicious deaths of young girls who fall or are pushed from apartment balconies. Most of these deaths are assumed to be honor killings.
The most recent incident was in Malmö; Esther at Islam in Europe has written extensively on this topic. Our Swedish correspondent LN pointed us to this interesting new twist in the case, from an article in the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet. A letter purporting to be from a witness to the murder was found at the scene of the killing. Our Danish correspondent TB has kindly translated the text of the letter, and also the article about it.
Note:
This is a Swedish story which was covered by a Norwegian newspaper, brought to our attention by a Swede, and translated by a Dane. That’s Multiculturalism, Gates of Vienna style.
The text below is TB’s translation, with his own explanatory remarks in italics:
In the letter that appears on the photograph in the beginning of the article it says something like (not precise):
Why
"Why should this happen to you. I saw it. What kind of pigs they were those who did this to you. I saw you being pushed out from the balcony by these two pigs. What have you, as a girl, done to deserve a punishment like this."
Beneath the first photograph it says:
This letter was found outside the house where a 16 year old girl where pushed to her death in Malmö on Sunday. The writer of the letter is unknown, but could be from an important witness.
And the article:
Police are looking into the mysterious writer of a letter in Malmö
This letter was found on the scene where a 16 year old girl was pushed to her death. (Dagbladet.no):
Monday the police caught two men under suspicion of having pushed a 16-year-old girl off the balcony on the fourth floor. The two men are the stepfather (38) and the brother (19) of the victim, who fell to the concrete and died instantly.
- - - - - - - - -
The police work from the theory that it is a so-called “honor killing”.

Two days ago a mysterious piece of paper was found on the crime scene which could have been written by an eye witness, Expressen.se writes.
In the letter it says, among other things:
“I saw you being pushed from the balcony. What have you done as a girl to deserve this punishment.”
Several people witnessed the girl being pushed but only a few of them have been interrogated. One of those that the police have talked to is a 22-year-old man who was first interviewed by Kvällsposten [Swedish Newspaper]. He criticize the police for asking people who where near the crime scene to go away. Several of these people could be important witnesses, he thinks.“They must have seen everything”
“Four teenage girls stood right in front of the balcony. They saw exactly what happened,” he says, and gets support from his neighbor.
“They must have seen everything.”
The mysterious letter could have been written by one of these girls, but according to what Kveldsposten knows, the police detectives have not been able to establish any contact with them. The writer of the letter is still unknown.

Political Apartheid in Britain
From the desk of Michael Huntsman
Mon, 2008-02-11 13:35
Rarely a day goes by without a whopping piece of hypocrisy on the part of the British Labour Party, for much of their political life is one big act of hypocrisy. Thus this weekend we have them facing both ways at once on matters of race.
On the one hand they have joined in the general chorus of denunciation of Archbishop Booby’s suggestion that Sharia Law be afforded status and recognition, and thereby approbation, within the law of England and Wales. On this the Labour Party have got it right.
At almost the same moment, however, Labour’s deputy leader Harriett Harman is found to be supportive of the notion that the law be changed to enable ‘all-black’ shortlists to be drawn up for the selection of candidates for election to Parliament by individual constituencies.
As the report says:
White candidates should be barred from standing for Parliament in up to eight constituencies in order to get more black and Asian MPs elected, says a controversial report commissioned by Labour's deputy leader, Harriet Harman.
Just savour those words: ‘white candidates should be barred.’ It has taken us a thousand years or so to arrive at a state of constitutional affairs whereby any man or woman might seek to stand for Parliament regardless of sex, race, colour, religious creed, political philosophy or sexual orientation and for the party of one’s personal taste.
Now, if Labour’s obnoxious plan were to succeed, our people would be legally excluded from standing for Parliament in the constituency of their choice for the party of their choice simply because of the white colour of their skin.
Such is Labour extremism that it is prepared to contemplate the introduction of a measure that is flagrantly in breach of the right not to be discriminated against “on any ground such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status”, which phraseology I have lifted intact from Article 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

What kind of "young democracy" infused with "new hope" sentences a citizen to death for "insulting Islam"? The answer is a democracy that enshrines Islamic law (Shariah). But confronting the role of Shariah in Islamic societies — including those propped up by the U.S. military — calls into question the strategy of the "war on terror" itself.

I would ask that you read this news article that appeared in yesterday's edition of the Washington Times, which reported on testimony by Director of National Intelligence McConnell about Iran's increasing influence in Latin America. Clearly the situation where Iran making serious inroads into Latin America should give our nation's leaders serious cause for pause! Over 45 years ago our nation stood on the brink of a war with the former Soviet Union when missiles from that communist nation were found to be situated in the Western Hemisphere. That moment in history is remembered as the "Cuban Missile Crisis."
The news article and McConnell's testimony make it clear that Cuba and Venezuela are teaming up with Iran, a nation identified as being a part of the "Axis of Evil" by the President in the days after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The entire world is alarmed at the prospect of Iran ultimately developing or otherwise gaining possession of nuclear weapons. It is also understood that narcotics trafficking has been historically used to fund criminal activities and terrorism. In order for drugs to enter the United States and then be sold on the streets of our cities. The drugs destroy the lives of those who become addicted to them. Often the addicts are young people whose lives are destroyed. The crimes that addicts commit to get their hands on the money they need often result in the death of innocent people and the destruction of their families. The violence that is associated with the drug trade is of legendary proportions. And the money that is generated by drug traffickers enable the drug trafficking organization to corrupt the governments of the countries in which they operate and enable them to often buy weapons and equipment that is superior to the weapons and resources used by governments that attempt to combat them, including our own country.
Additionally, in forming an alliance with countries in the Western Hemisphere and in working with drug trafficking organizations in Mexico, Iran has developed a relatively easy access to our nation's border. This would easily enable them to send terrorists and weapons of mass destruction across our souther border. It is also important to know that at present, it is estimated that there are some 6 million Muslims living in Latin America. I want to be clear about this, I do not believe that everyone who subscribes to Islam represents a threat to our safety, the issue is that even if only one percent of those six million adherents to Islam are radical in there beliefs, we are talking about quite a few people.
It is also believed that the so-called "Tri-Borders Region" of Brazil is a source of funding for terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah. Additionally, as I have written in a number of commentaries, Hezbollah has apparently penetrated our federal government's law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Nada Prouty, a citizen of Lebanon managed to obtain resident alien status via a marriage fraud that ultimately enabled her to acquire United States citizenship. Using her language skills and newly acquired U.S. citizenship, she parlayed that immigration fraud into a job as an FBI special agent and then as an employee of the CIA where she is alleged to have accessed highly sensitive databases to determine the progress our government had made in investigating Hezbollah. I have read an account that she had actually accessed highly critical informant files, endangering their lives and imperiling the security of the United States!
When you put all of the pieces of this puzzle together, you realize that while our government is spending incredible sums of money prosecuting the "War on Terror" in Iraq and Afghanistan, also costing our nation literally the lifeblood of our valiant young men and women in the military, our border with Mexico is anything but secure. The immigration bureaucracy that Nada Prouty easily gamed is even less secure than our highly porous borders! There are efforts underway to expand the perilous Visa Waiver Program and each of the three front runners in the presidential campaign have made it clear that they intend to provide amnesty and citizenship to millions of illegal and undocumented aliens. The true names and nationalities of these aliens is, in virtually every case, unknown and unknowable. If a guest worker amnesty program was to be created, it is a virtual certainty that terrorists and criminals would be able to easily commit immigration fraud as did Ms Prouty, and conceal their identities and intentions, embedding themselves in our country and potentially, in jobs with serious national security implications.
Let us quickly review just how insane all of this is. We are regularly informed of the intentions of Al Qaeda to launch attacks inside the United States. We are similarly treated to alarming stories about efforts being made by Iran to acquire nuclear weapons to destroy our nation and our allies such as Israel. We know that these efforts require large sums of money and access to our country. Meanwhile, our borders are as secure as a sieve and the immigration bureaucracy is unable to deal with the massive levels of immigration fraud. As I have stated before Congress as well as in other venues, "A nation without secure borders can no more stand than can a house without walls!" The military leaders of the United States certainly agree with this statement. One of the very first actions they took when we went into Iraq was to enlist the assistance of the United States Border Patrol, sending Border Patrol agents to Iraq to secure the Iraqi border to stem the flow of terrorists and insurgents into that country. Our military leaders even called for the deployment of the elite BORTAC (Border Patrol Tactical Units) to Iraq while our borders remained vulnerable to the entry of millions of illegal aliens. Among those aliens were and are criminals, gang members and undoubtedly terrorists who may well be here, pre-positioning themselves for the day that they are called into action.
Robert S. Mueller, the Director of the FBI has testified before the United States Senate that he was concerned about so-called "Sleeper Agents" entering our country. George Tenet, the former head of the CIA has talked about similar concerns when he has made public statements about national security. A "Sleeper Agent" is an alien who, in one way or another, gains access to our country and then manages to embed himself (herself) in a community where they hide in plain sight among their intended victims should they be called upon to carry out a terrorist attack in our nation.

Federal Agents Investigating Fire at Tennessee Mosque

That Appears to be Arson
Sunday, February 10, 2008
**
COLUMBIA, Tenn. — A mosque was destroyed Saturday by a fire that federal investigators say appears to have been caused by arson. No one was injured.
Investigators found drawings of swastikas and other graffiti at the Islamic Center of Columbia, said Special Agent Eric Kehn of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Daoud Abudiab, president of the center, said authorities told him the fire probably started around 5 a.m. The graffiti included the words "white power" and "we run the world," Abudiab said.
"We have not had any trouble," he said. "This is the first incident."
Ten to 15 people regularly worshipped at the mosque, which opened in 2000. Abudiab said they plan to look for another place to worship in Columbia, about 50 miles south of Nashville.
"This has been home for us -- Middle Tennessee and Columbia -- since 1998, and people have been supportive and friendly and welcoming," he said. "Obviously, we are concerned, but it hasn't really sunk in yet."

Bush orders clampdown on flights to US

After all, what do we thinl we are, a sovereign nation or something?
**
EU officials furious as Washington says it wants extra data on all air passengers
**
The US administration is pressing the 27 governments of the European Union to sign up for a range of new security measures for transatlantic travel, including allowing armed guards on all flights from Europe to America by US airlines.
The demand to put armed air marshals on to the flights is part of a travel clampdown by the Bush administration that officials in Brussels described as "blackmail" and "troublesome", and could see west Europeans and Britons required to have US visas if their governments balk at Washington's requirements.
According to a US document being circulated for signature in European capitals, EU states would also need to supply personal data on all air passengers overflying but not landing in the US in order to gain or retain visa-free travel to America, senior EU officials said.
And within months the US department of homeland security is to impose a new permit system for Europeans flying to the US, compelling all travellers to apply online for permission to enter the country before booking or buying a ticket, a procedure that will take several days.
The data from the US's new electronic transport authorisation system is to be combined with extensive personal passenger details already being provided by EU countries to the US for the "profiling" of potential terrorists and assessment of other security risks.
Washington is also asking European airlines to provide personal data on non-travellers - for example family members - who are allowed beyond departure barriers to help elderly, young or ill passengers to board aircraft flying to America, a demand the airlines reject as "absurd".
Seven demands tabled by Washington are contained in a 10-page "memorandum of understanding" (MOU) that the US authorities are negotiating or planning to negotiate with all EU governments, according to ministers and diplomats from EU member states and senior officials in Brussels. The Americans have launched their security drive with some of the 12 mainly east European EU countries whose citizens still need visas to enter the US.
"The Americans are trying to get a beefing up of their visa-waiver programmes. It's all contained in the MOU they want to put to all EU member states," said a diplomat from a west European country. "It's a very delicate problem."
As part of a controversial passenger data exchange programme allegedly aimed at combating terrorism, the EU has for the past few months been supplying the American authorities with 19 items of information on every traveller flying from the EU to the US.
The new American demands go well beyond what was agreed under that passenger name record (PNR) system and look certain to cause disputes within Europe and between Europe and the US.
Brussels is pressing European governments not to sign the bilateral deals with the Americans to avoid weakening the EU bargaining position. But Washington appears close to striking accords on the new travel regime with Greece and the Czech Republic. Both countries have sizeable diaspora communities in America, while their citizens need visas to enter the US. Visa-free travel would be popular in both countries.
A senior EU official said the Americans could get "a gung-ho frontrunner" to sign up to the new regime and then use that agreement "as a rod to beat the other member states with". The frontrunner appears to be the Czech Republic. On Wednesday, Richard Barth of the department of homeland security was in Prague to negotiate with the Czech deputy prime minister, Alexandr Vondra,
Prague hoped to sign the US memorandum "in the spring", Vondra said. "The EU has done nothing for us on visas," he said. "There was no help, no solidarity in the past. It's in our interest to move ahead. We can't just wait and do nothing. We have to act in the interest of our citizens."
While the Czechs are in a hurry to sign up, Brussels is urging delay in order to try to reach a common European position.
"There is a process of consultation and coordination under way," said Jonathan Faull, a senior European commission official involved in the negotiations with the Americans.
To European ears, the US demands sound draconian. "This would oblige the European countries to allow US air marshals on US flights. It's controversial and difficult," an EU official said. At the moment the use of air marshals is discretionary for European states and airlines.
While armed American guards would be entitled to sit on the European flights to the US, the Americans also want the PNR data transfers extended from travellers from Europe to the US to include the details of those whose flights are not to America, but which overfly US territory, say to central America or the Caribbean.
Brussels has told Washington that its demands raise legal problems in Europe over data protection, over guarantees on how the information is handled, over which US agencies have access to it or with whom it might be shared, and over issues of redress if the data is misused.
The Association of European Airlines, representing 31 airlines, including all the big west European national carriers, has told the US authorities that there is "no international legal foundation" for supplying them with data about passengers on flights overflying US territory.
The US Transport Security Administration has also asked the European airlines to supply personal data on "certain non-travelling members of the public requesting access to areas beyond the screening checkpoint".
The AEA said this was "absurd" because the airlines neither obtain nor can obtain such information. The request was "fully unjustified".
If the Americans persevere in the proposed security crackdown, Brussels is likely to respond with tit-for-tat action, such as calling for visas for some Americans.
European governments, however, would probably veto such action, one official said, not least for fear of the "massive disruption given the huge volume of transatlantic traffic".

Don't say mum and dad...

... teachers told not to assume pupils have heterosexual parents
Pupils are enlisted in the war on homophobia

Teachers should not assume that their pupils have a "mum and dad" under guidance aimed at tackling anti-gay bullying in schools.
It says primary pupils as young as four should be familiarised with the idea of same-sex couples to help combat homophobic attitudes.
Teachers should attempt to avoid assumptions that pupils will have a conventional family background, it urges.
Pupils are enlisted in the war on homophobia
It goes on to suggest the word "parents" may be more appropriate than "mum and dad", particularly in letters and emails to the child's home.
When discussing marriage with secondary pupils, teachers should also educate pupils about civil partnerships and gay adoption rights.
The guidance - produced for the Government by gay rights group Stonewall - will be formally launched today by Schools Secretary Ed Balls.
It states that children who call classmates "gay" should be treated the same as racists as part of a "zero tolerance" crackdown on the use of the word as an insult.
Teachers should avoid telling boys to "be a man" or accuse them of behaving like a "bunch of women".
This sort of rebuke "leads to bullying of those who do not conform to fixed ideas about gender", the guidance states.
At the same time, schools should encourage gay role models among staff, parents and governors. Homosexual staff should be able to discuss their private lives after the consultation with the head teacher.
In advice to gay staff, it states: "School culture and ethos determines how open staff are about their private lives, and you should therefore seek advice and guidance from your head."
The Department for Children, Schools and Families commissioned Stonewall to write the guidance jointly with lobby group Education Action Challenging Homophobia.
It says that pupils aged four to seven should "understand that not all pupils have a mum and a dad" and learn about different family structures.
Advice to teachers of 11 to 14-year-olds states: "Schools should make efforts to talk inclusively about same-sex parents, for example, avoid assuming all pupils will have a "mum and dad".
"When schools discuss marriage, they may also discuss civil partnership and adoption rights for gay people."
In a section on engaging with parents, it asks schools: "Do you talk about 'parents' instead of assuming all pupils have 'mum or a dad'?"
The advice goes on to urge teachers to challenge every derogatory use of the word gay to avert homophobic attitudes.
Examples include "those trainers are so gay", "that pencil case is so gay" or "you're such a gay boy".
One primary teacher quoted in the guidance said: "We hear 'gay' as a term of abuse every single day. The children may not know exactly what it means, but they know they are using it as an insult. That's why we need to tackle it at this stage."
Controversy over the semantics of the word erupted two years ago when the BBC ruled that Radio One DJ Chris Moyles was not being offensive to homosexuals by using the word "gay" to mean "rubbish".
The advice says: "It is important for all staff to challenge pupils, explaining the consequences of using 'gay' in a derogatory way.
"It might be time-consuming at first, but a consistent 'zero-tolerance' approach to such language is central to achieving progress and an environment in which being gay is not thought of as being inferior."
It adds: "Schools need to make it clear to pupils that homophobic comments are as serious as racist comments, and homophobic incidents are as serious as other forms of bullying."
Teachers should use every curriculum subject to nip discriminatory attitudes in the bud.
English lessons for teenagers, for example, could focus on the emotions of the gay Italian soldier Carlo in Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
The guidance is being published five years after the repeal of Section 28 - the law which banned the promotion of homosexuality in schools.
Ministers promised the move would make no difference to the teaching of homosexual matters but some critics have claimed the gay lobby is having a growing influence on pupils.
Next month is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month, where pupils learn about apparently gay figures from history including Leonardo da Vinci, Oscar Wilde and James Dean.
Mr Balls, who will launch the anti-bullying guidance at a Stonewall conference today, said: "I am proud the Government and the department are being robust about this.
"It is our view that every school should have a clear policy on tackling all forms of bullying, including homophobic bullying."

The Three Laws of Islam - We Are Already Living as Dhimmis
READ IT ALL!:
**
Excerpt:
Polls show that 40 percent of British Muslims want Sharia, Islamic Law implemented in the UK and the government has moved to accommodate them. Tony Blair’s government passed a law that would essentially criminalize blaspheming Islam. The law was weakened in the House of Lords but it will return again stronger than ever especially as the electoral and terror power of Muslims grow along with the desire of Western governments to appease them.
Norway and Sweden have already begun the process of implementing similar laws. In parts of Australia criticizing Islam can get you jail time. In Israel a woman was sentenced to prison for drawing and distributing a cartoon of Mohamed as a pig. In Russia and Belarus newspaper editors have faced jail time for reprinting the Danish cartoons.
If you believe that this can’t happen in America, you are very wrong. The legal framework for it is already in place. Hate Crime laws allow for actions that are not in and of themselves criminal to be treated as criminal actions. Increasingly such laws also define a hate crime not based on the motive or action of the accused perpetrator but on the perception of the presumed victim. Beyond the legal statues, perceived intolerance is penalized in numerous ways economically and socially.
**
The hour is much later than we think.
If Europe is putting up something of a fight, it is we who are giving in without a fight. For all the patriotic rhetoric of the Bush Administration, we may be fighting a particular group of Islamic terrorists but we are surrendering to most of the others and the terror has only begun.

Sharia Courts in...Texas!

By the muslimes establishing their own courts it automatically sets us up with a separate dhimmi status. They have their own courts because we are dhimmies. they have raised themselves to a higher standard and enforced it. We don't have the right to use their courts, they refuse to use ours.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the HONOR KIILLING NI TEXAS that took place over the New Year: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=24329

Yes, Texas.

The parties will ask the courts to refer the cases for arbitration to Texas Islamic court within "Seven Days" from the establishment of the Texas Islamic Court panel of Arbitrators. The assignment must include ALL cases, including those filed against or on behalf of other family members related to the parties. Each party will notify the other party, Texas Islamic Court, and their respective attorneys, in writing of the assignment of all the above Cause Numbers from the above appropriate District Court to Texas Islamic Court.

Good News! Shari'a Law in Texas!
Assalam aleikum, y'all!
The Second Court of Appeals of the State of Texas has rendered a ruling on the enforceability of shari'a judgments rendered by imams. According to the Texas appeals court, it's all good.
You've heard of the Texas Courts. Ladies and gentlemen, make way for the Texas Islamic Courts!!!

In general, private arbitration agreements are enforceable by government courts. Shari'a arbitration agreements are one type of private arbitration agreement. Without a theory as to why shari'a arbitration agreements shouldn't be enforced by the courts, I'm not sure what else the appeals court could have done in this case. Still, this is not a welcome development.

UK: missing children forced into marriages abroad

Mystery of Bradford's missing children: were they forced into marriages abroad?
Leading article: We must not turn a blind eye to this cruelty
**
By Jerome Taylor and Mark Hughes
Monday 4 February 2008
They are the missing women of Bradford – the more than 200 teenage girls per year who disappear from their schools and fail to return from trips overseas. Where they go and whether they come back is not known, but is is feared that many are forced to marry abroad – and hundreds more like them across the country are vanishing every year.
No one knows the exact number of British women who are forced marry against their will, but a recent Home Office paper revealed that in 2006 in Bradford alone, 250 girls aged 13 to 16 were taken off their school rolls because they did not return from a visit abroad.
Campaigners say that, while not all these children will have been forced into marriage, there is a chance that such a fate awaited a small but tragic few. The Forced Marriage Unit, a joint Home Office and Foreign Office department that deals with such reports and repatriates many victims to the UK, deals with 5,000 callers a year. Of those, 300 are forced marriage cases: 15 per cent of them involving boys and 30 per cent of them minors, some as young as 11.
Shazia Qayum, 27, was one such victim. When she was 15, she was taken out of her Manchester school by her parents because she refused to marry a cousin in Pakistan. Despite being kept prisoner at home for more than a year, no one came looking for her. "Day after day, I sat in my room praying for someone to find me," she recalls. "I was convinced my school or the authorities would start asking questions but, to my knowledge, no one bothered."
Campaigners concede that the Government has begun taking steps to fight so-called "honour crime". New laws coming into force this summer will allow victims to obtain court injunctions against anyone trying to force them to marry. But critics say more attention must be paid to investigating what happens to Asian girls who drop out of school early.
"We have to start focusing more on the issue of girls going missing from school," says Jasvinder Sanghera, who was forced to marry at 14 and went on to found Karma Nirvana – a Derby-based group which helps domestic violence victims. "The Bradford figures are particularly alarming because, if that is how many girls are at risk in one city, imagine how many possible victims there could be across the country?"
Nazir Afzal, a Crown prosecutor specialising in honour crimes and forced marriages, believes alarm bells should ring whenever a child is withdrawn from a school early. "It's important not just to concentrate on the victims but also potential victims," he says. "Often, if a girl or boy is taken out of school early, it's a trigger that a forced marriage may be on the cards."
Some campaigners say the battle against forced marriage is often stymied by a reluctance to intervene in ethnic minority affairs for fear of accusations of racism or "Islamophobia". "I have been rabbiting on about this for years and have been labelled a racist and an Islamaphobe for doing so," says Ann Cryer, the Labour MP for the ethnically-mixed Bradford constituency of Keighley. "The problem is that it is just not in anyone's interest to pursue what is happening to these children.
"Parents, schools and the community simply do not want to look into it but that is just not satisfactory. I don't care who does it, but someone has to ask questions as to why these children are not in school."
Schools in predominantly Asian areas often refuse to put up advice posters because they are afraid of upsetting parents. Similarly, though the Forced Marriage Unit has produced guidelines for teachers, they are not obliged to take action or even to read the pamphlet.
Zedunnisa Hajee, headteacher of the Jaamiatul Imaam Muhammad Zakaria school for girls on the outskirts of Bradford, says she has yet to come across a case of forced marriage but she has procedures in place should it happen. She admits it does take place in the wider community but adds: "We liaise with police regularly and make sure the girls are all aware of their rights and that no one can force them to marry."
Bradford City Council disputed the Government's figures but said it identified 205 children in the city last year who were not in school. A spokesman added: "Of this number, 172 were tracked to an alternative destination or known to be on a roll at school. Thirty-three children out of a total school population in Bradford of 89,000 have been on the out-of-school register for more than two months."
'No one bothered to find out where I had gone' - Shazia Qayum, 27, from Derby
I remember like it was yesterday the day that I was taken out of school and told that I had to marry my cousin . I was 15 years old and came back one day to find my mother holding a photograph of her nephew in Pakistan. She said the marriage had already been arranged. If I refused ... they would ban me from continuing my education. I thought there was no way they'd get away with taking me out of school so I refused. My parents locked me up in the house. I was convinced that my school or the authorities would start asking questions but no one ever bothered to find out where I had disappeared. Day after day I sat in my room praying for someone to find me. I later found out that my parents had got our family doctor to write sick notes for me.When I was seventeen they said that we were going on holiday to Pakistan. Shortly after we got there, they told me we were going to go to a wedding. I asked who was getting married. They replied: "You". I met my husband on the day of the wedding. I remember pleading with him that I didn't want to be married to him and he simply said he didn't care. I returned to the UK with my parents who forced me to sponsorhis visa application. He came over to the UK. I phoned the police who came to collect me but said there was little they could do. I checked into a B&B and lived there for six months. Disowned by my family and all alone. I have never felt as desperately lonely.
'I was locked up until I agreed' - Imran Rehman, 33, Birmingham
I became engaged to my uncle's five-year-old daughter in Pakistan when I was 10. At the time, I thought it was just a big party for me and a little girl who had been dressed up in a wedding outfit.
When I was 15 my family showed me the pictures of that ceremony and said I was going to have to get married.
When I was 17 I was asked if I wanted to go to Pakistan for a holiday and I jumped at the chance. One day I was abducted and locked in a mosque for 15 days until I agreed to the marriage. I escaped and went back to England... [I married] the same girl when I was 24 because the family kept pressuring me. We lasted six weeks and I got disowned by my family.
...no religion justifies forced marriages... it's forbidden in the Koran.

Why the West Is Best - Ibn Warraq

**
My response to Tariq Ramadan
**
Last October, I participated in a debate in London, hosted by Intelligence Squared, to consider the motion, “We should not be reluctant to assert the superiority of Western values.” Muslim intellectual Tariq Ramadan, among others, spoke against the motion; I spoke in favor, focusing on the vast disparities in freedom, human rights, and tolerance between Western and Islamic societies. Here, condensed somewhat, is the case that I made.
The great ideas of the West—rationalism, self-criticism, the disinterested search for truth, the separation of church and state, the rule of law and equality under the law, freedom of thought and expression, human rights, and liberal democracy—are superior to any others devised by humankind. It was the West that took steps to abolish slavery; the calls for abolition did not resonate even in Africa, where rival tribes sold black prisoners into slavery. The West has secured freedoms for women and racial and other minorities to an extent unimaginable 60 years ago. The West recognizes and defends the rights of the individual: we are free to think what we want, to read what we want, to practice our religion, to live lives of our choosing.
In short, the glory of the West, as philosopher Roger Scruton puts it, is that life here is an open book. Under Islam, the book is closed. In many non-Western countries, especially Islamic ones, citizens are not free to read what they wish. In Saudi Arabia, Muslims are not free to convert to Christianity, and Christians are not free to practice their faith—clear violations of Article 18 of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In contrast with the mind-numbing enforced certainties and rules of Islam, Western civilization offers what Bertrand Russell once called “liberating doubt,” which encourages the methodological principle of scientific skepticism. Western politics, like science, proceeds through tentative steps of trial and error, open discussion, criticism, and self-correction.
One could characterize the difference between the West and the Rest as a difference in epistemological principles. The desire for knowledge, no matter where it leads, inherited from the Greeks, has led to an institution unequaled—or very rarely equaled—outside the West: the university. Along with research institutes and libraries, universities are, at least ideally, independent academies that enshrine these epistemological norms, where we can pursue truth in a spirit of disinterested inquiry, free from political pressures. In other words, behind the success of modern Western societies, with their science and technology and open institutions, lies a distinct way of looking at the world, interpreting it, and recognizing and rectifying problems.
The edifice of modern science and scientific method is one of Western man’s greatest gifts to the world. The West has given us not only nearly every scientific discovery of the last 500 years—from electricity to computers—but also, thanks to its humanitarian impulses, the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, Human Rights Watch, and Amnesty International. The West provides the bulk of aid to beleaguered Darfur; Islamic countries are conspicuous by their lack of assistance.
Moreover, other parts of the world recognize Western superiority. When other societies such as South Korea and Japan have adopted Western political principles, their citizens have flourished. It is to the West, not to Saudi Arabia or Iran, that millions of refugees from theocratic or other totalitarian regimes flee, seeking tolerance and political freedom. Nor would any Western politician be able to get away with the anti-Semitic remarks that former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad made in 2003. Our excusing Mahathir’s diatribe indicates not only a double standard but also a tacit acknowledgment that we apply higher ethical standards to Western leaders.
A culture that gave the world the novel; the music of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert; and the paintings of Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Rembrandt does not need lessons from societies whose idea of heaven, peopled with female virgins, resembles a cosmic brothel. Nor does the West need lectures on the superior virtue of societies in which women are kept in subjection under sharia, endure genital mutilation, are stoned to death for alleged adultery, and are married off against their will at the age of nine; societies that deny the rights of supposedly lower castes; societies that execute homosexuals and apostates. The West has no use for sanctimonious homilies from societies that cannot provide clean drinking water or sewage systems, that make no provisions for the handicapped, and that leave 40 to 50 percent of their citizens illiterate.
As Ayatollah Khomeini once famously said, there are no jokes in Islam. The West is able to look at its foibles and laugh, to make fun of its fundamental principles: but there is no equivalent as yet to Monty Python’s Life of Brian in Islam. Can we look forward, someday, to a Life of Mo? Probably not—one more small sign that Western values remain the best, and perhaps the only, means for all people, no matter of what race or creed, to reach their full potential and live in freedom.
Since 1998, Ibn Warraq has edited several books of Koranic criticism and on the origins of Islam, including Leaving Islam: Apostates Speak Out, Defending the West: A Critique of Edward Said’s Orientalism, and Which Koran? (forthcoming).
